The New Rachel

jenna said it was a great start to season 4

on sept 12, 2012 the cast and creators attended a season 4 premiere party with all the new kids

there was one season premiere that they were stuck on the red carpet for so long that it started without them (either s2 or 3) so they had to stand on the sides at their own premiere so for s4 they had reserved seating for them

after the premiere, they hung out and played music and had a lot of fun

kevin said they have all these new characters and don't ease into them

jenna said lots of songs in this ep and they were so good

kevin said call me maybe was so good and the chemistry between jenna and alex newell this episode was so good

glee was always on on tuesdays at 8 or 9pm and this season got moved by fox to thursdays

chord was promoted to a season regular (signed on for most / all episodes with a large pay increase), dianna and jayma became recurring (not committed to a certain amount of episodes)

they said it was a giant shift in the show with lima and nyc

as of this episode, each co-creator wrote a season premiere. they all wrote the pilot, ian wrote audition, brad wrote purple piano project, ryan wrote the new rachel

this is the first episode without finn, santana, and mercedes, this is the first episode since preggers that mike chang has not been in

in hold on to sixteen, sebastian predicted that blaine would be his by the end of the school year and kurt would be in the lima bean apron - as of this episode, kurt is in the lima bean apron (until the end of the ep)

jenna and kevin said kate hudson is so good, kevin hung out with her a lot at basecamp and she was interested in learning about it and how the show went

jenna said kate and lea worked well together

kevin said it was jarring when rachel reveals she hasn't spoken to finn in months and it was really weird

kevin didn't remember brody getting introduced in the shower

they rarely saw dean, never really saw lea, after this episode they didn't see chris

jenna likes watching the NYADA stuff

kevin said it was always ryan's vision that the glee kids would become the popular ones

this is the first season they filmed digital, not on film. it starts to get a little brighter

kevin said he was pissed he didn't get to audition for the new rachel with unique, tina, blaine, and brittany

jenna remembers brad being like whip your hair

they said the orchestra during call me maybe sounded so good

kevin said there was a confidence in the four of them - the dancing was sharper, the presence was sharper, and it felt more free

jenna said it was fun to do and to watch

jenna and becca have a mutual friend and he told jenna his friend got glee and to say hi to her so jenna went to becca's trailer to welcome her and say hi and told her she knows dante and he's a close friend of hers and becca was like "oh cool" and jenna was like okay gotta go - becca was so nervous

jenna did not remember jake being puck's half brother and puck not knowing

they said jacob sounds so good on never say never and he's so talented
