big deal for so many reasons
when they were testing for the pilot, they were told they may go on tour and the cast was like yeah uh huh sure and just signed the contracts
they had to go on tour for at least six weeks to make a profit, and they were all exhausted so ryan came and eased them into it bc he knew they weren't into it and had to talk them into it and hype it up in a way - they still had months ahead of them for filming

most people were not stoked about it and financially it wasn't even that great for them, but they had a choice and they all ultimately chose to do it
kevin and jenna had everyone over and talked them into it to use it as an opportunity to ask for more money
tour made $44M
they said for the most part, tour was very fun. jenna said kevin had the right mindset about it and jenna wishes she could do it over with a different mindset (not tired, not financially screwed, etc.)
they said tour left a bad taste in a lot of peoples' mouths
they finished filming s2 and had 3 days off before tour started
they started tour rehearsal while they were filming s2 and zach had them go back to look at their past performances and choreography as a refresher
they were given notebooks for where you go and when you go somewhere else / transitions
people like ashley fink had to learn singing, dancing, and the track but the people who had been there just had to remember it and then smooth things out basically
they had three and a half days of rehearsal and then a family and friends show with ryan and the head of fox and others
the boys had video games in their room - kevin said the guys' room was exactly what you think: smelly, loud, bright lights
kevin and chris hung out in the girls' room a lot
they would go in the rooms and not speak to each other so they could decompress and relax between shows if there was a matinee and an evening show

some people were scared to fly on it, lots of turbulence
they had to have patron shots before the flight sometimes
a lot of the girls said kevin should do safety dance but kevin thought ryan wouldn't go for it bc he almost had an elevator made so no one saw kevin get out of the chair bc he really wanted everyone to stay in character
ryan told dana (the head of fox) in front of kevin "this one's on the verge of having two songs cut" 😂
the girls rallied for safety dance and knew how much kevin wanted to do it and they wanted to do it, ryan was against it bc he didn't want to ruin the character and the representation, but they pointed out it was already done that way on the show and he listened to them
they knew somebody to love and empire state of mind would definitely be in it and narrowed down other songs but then did a secret ballot - and ryan read it and it was safety dance
they did friday and single ladies and they needed more songs to get everyone to run to the side of the stage in time
kevin said if you watch safety dance and single ladies videos, sometimes it's different people in the front or like heather will join halfway through bc of timing and such
