  Shoto-
I woke up and groaned, I heard the shower running. "Jade?" I asked, pushing the door open.
She had her forearms up against the wall, her forehead pressed into her fists, eyes closed, as the water covered the entirety of her body. "Jade?" I asked, softer as I got closer to her.
Her lips were quivering, and I could see the tears rolling off her cheek. I took off the towels I had on and climbed in, behind her, I wrapped my arms around her, she gripped my arms, and she started crying, falling to the shower floor. I fell with her, rocking us, using one hand to hold her against me and the other to brush through her hair. She cried gripping my arm around her. "It's ok, shh, shh...I'm right here. I'm right here, shh. Gita yosef te tha malikta ef tha ritar (Give yourself to the miracle of the rain in Arcadian)." I whispered, holding her as she cried.
"Ikta...gita mista...te tha malikta ef tha ritar (I give myself to the miracle of the rain in Arcadian)." Jade whispered, and she calmed down as she breathed heavily.
I held her tightly and helped her up. She grunted in pain, and I held her up as she showered. She took a 5 and 1/2 hour shower. We both got out. She had a towel wrapped around her body and a towel that she wrapped her hair in. I wrapped a towel around my waist and draped one over my shoulders.
She exhaled and took my hand as I helped her from the shower. She grunted in pain. I put her not shot arm over my shoulder, and held her by her waist, lifting her to help her walk. "We need to get you a brace." I said, as I sat her down.
  "Nnnggg....yeah." Jade grunted, in pain.
The amount of pain she must have been in, it'd been a whole year since she disappeared. I looked around for stuff to make a brace but nothing seemed to spark any ideas for me. "Grab those two rebar, those patches of metal, and those tea pitcher bottoms. Then hand me those curtains hanging from the window." Jade said.
I grabbed all of that and she started building. I smiled at her lovingly as I watched her. "What?" Jade asked, looking at me.
"Nothing, it's just...really good to see you tinker." I said, smiling.
Jade chuckled and smiled at me. She built an ACL knee brace and slipped it on, tightening it. She grunted and then exhaled in relief as she stood and walked. She laughed and smiled as she walked how she normally walked. I smiled lovingly at her and she fell forward. I caught her. And she chuckled nervously, pushing her hair behind her ear. "Sorry, I got excited." Jade said.
I chuckled. "Don't apologize." I said, hugging her and she hugged me back.
  "Are you ok?" I asked.
"I'll be better when we get home." Jade said, and I nodded.
I grabbed the first aid kit and wrapped all of Jade's injuries from the torture. "Hey Jade..." I began.
"Hmm?" Jade asked, looking at me.
"Can you cut my hair?" I asked.
Jade chuckled and nodded. "Sit." She said, and she cut my hair to my normal length and style. "Jeez, how long have you been letting it grow?" Jade asked.
"Since we got here. I haven't cut it since we landed, but I have kept my face clean shaven." I said, and Jade laughed.
"Good, you'd look terrible with facial hair." Jade said, touching my chin and I smiled.
She used the first aid kit and began to clean, stitch, and patch my wounds. She was working on a gash on my cheek. "You're being strangely cryptic as you clean my cheek." I said.
Jade chuckled. "I don't want to accidentally poke you. Hold still." Jade said.
"How can I hold still when your beautiful face is right in front of me?" I asked, flirtatiously.
Jade smiled. "Careful now, you're making some very brave assumptions." Jade said, seductively.
I blushed as she stitched my cheek and then covered it. Jade chuckled and kissed my forehead.
I put my hand on her low back and pulled her into my lap. "Oh!" Jade exclaimed.
  "Jade I..." I began.
She pulled my head into her breasts and hugged me. I gripped her back and squeezed my eyes shut. "I'm really happy to hold you...see you...be with you. I missed you so much." I cried.
Jade smiled softly. "I missed you too Shoto." Jade said, and I held her close for a while... probably like 30-45 minutes before I met her go and we both got dressed.
  Jade wore this:

and we both wore hijabs to cover our mouth, noses, and head since it was so hot and the sun was brutal.
  "You ready?" I asked.
  "Yeah." Jade said.
"Jade...we can stay here until you fully recover physically from..." I began.
"The torture, you can say it Shoto, because that's what it was. A whole year of torture from Barbra and her people. That'll take 9 months and I really...I really just wanna get home." Jade said, tearing up.
I nodded and put her arm over my shoulder, wrapping my other arm behind her back to help her walk.
We trekked the sand for hours and hours and hours. I chuckled a bit as I helped her walk.
"What's that look for?" Jade asked.
"Nothing, it's just...a silly and stupid thought." I said.
Jade chucked, smiling at me. "It's not stupid if it makes you smile." Jade said.
I chuckled. "I was just watching you hold my shoulder and limp your way slowly through the desert without complaining and I thought... 'damn, Xia would be complaining the whole fucking time.'" I said.
Jade chuckled. "Carry me Shoto I'm tired!" She said dramatically, pretending to faint.
I laughed. "It's too hot Shoto, use your ice to cool me off." I said, mocking her.
Jade and I both laughed and I smiled at Jade. She smiled at me lovingly.
Then, we either had the best timing or the worst luck...we found an abandoned vehicle but it was not functional...like at all.
"I can make this work." Jade said.
"You can!?" I asked, and she nodded.
"Do you know anything about cars?" Jade asked.
"Yeah, a lot actually." I said.
"Get to working on the inside." Jade said, and I nodded, I pulled down the visor and keys fell out.
  "Hey Jade." I said.
"Huh?" She asked, and I showed her the keys.
She chuckled. "Were they in the visor?" Jade asked.
"Yep." I said, tossing them and catching them.
She chuckled and we continued to work on the Jeep. We got it to drive and function.
"Yes." Jade said, and she ran to the passengers side.
I helped her into the car by lifting her and setting her in the chair. I placed her leg elevated on the dash and she read a book before we left.
"Ok...so...we have to watch for Sandstorms, Dust Clouds, Sand Tornadoes...sand tornadoes?" Jade asked.
I shrugged and she chuckled. "And Sand Quakes...ok. There are also creatures called Sand Hydra, and Sand Serpents. And we have to keep an eye out for Sand Pirates." Jade said.
"Sand pirates? What do sand pirates even do?" I asked.
"No clue, a lot of the pages are too faded to read." Jade said.
"Did it at least come with a map?" I asked.
Jade pulled out a map. "Yep." She said, opening it and I looked at that.
  "Yeah, I can't read that." I said.
"I can. I mean, it's ancient Sand Speech but...I can read it." Jade said.
"Cool, then take us home, oh great navigator Jade." I said, sarcastically and smiling.
Jade laughed, that's all I was after. Her laugh...and that smile...Gods, her beautiful smile and we started driving with her giving me directions.
