Episode 78: Home

  Hanta-
  I was smoking a cigarette, still heavily wrapped since it had only been a few days. I was walking around the camp. "How is the reconstruction coming along Jax?" I asked.
  "It's slow but good." Jax said.
  "Good, keep me posted." I said.
  Jax nodded. "Hanta, some of the people have fallen ill." TC said.
  "What are the symptoms?" I asked.
  "Fever, sore throat, headache, body aches, coughing, sneezing, and chills." TC said.
  "Ok uh...use the microscope Jade jerry rigged to investigate the virus and then make a cure. It's not deadly right?" I asked.
  "No, and it's only a few people." TC said.
  "Great, get to work on that and keep me in the loop." I said.
  "You got it boss." TC said.
  Bakugo's search party came back. "Any luck on finding Jade or Shoto?" I asked.
  "No, but...we'll expand the search area tomorrow." Bakugo said.
  "No...it's ok. I need you guys here helping with the reconstruction. We've got all of the clans coming here with all of their people in about a week, I need us to be ready for that." I said.
  "You got it." Bakugo said.
  "Sir!" Iida yelled, crossing his arms in an X quickly to salute and I did the same.
  "Report?" I asked.
  "Harbingers have been spotted and killed on sight but...they're getting closer every day." Iida said.
  "They only come out at night right?" I asked.
  "Yes sir." Iida said.
  "Have the Nightwatchers try and find a weakness, we need to keep the Harbingers out and away from Arcadia for as long as possible." I said.
  "Yes sir!" Iida exclaimed, crossing his arms in an X quickly again to salute and I did the same.
  "Hanta...we have an issue." Midoriya said.
  "What's that?" I asked.
  "This is our latest haul of food and clean water." Midoriya said, showing me.
  I sighed, it was so small. "Ok, uh...get with Tianzo in the medical tent and see if he can tell us what's going on since he knows nature better than anyone, and send Kendo and Alex to me." I said.
  "You got it." Midoriya said, and he brought them out.
  "Alex, Kendo I need the two of you to ration the food so we can survive longer. We're gonna have to limit everyone to one meal a day until we can figure out what's going on." I said.
  "Got it." Alex and Kendo said, in sync, quickly saluting with an X and I did the same.
  About a week passed and all of the clans arrived to Arcadia. We welcomed them with open arms and they began to congregate with everyone.
  I was smoking a cigarette and walking around. Kirishima ran to me. "You doing alright, you're smoking more than usual?" Kirishima asked.
  "Put it this way, I do not envy Shoto and I'm ready for him to come home." I said, smiling and Kirishima laughed.
  "I feel that." Kirishima said.
  "Uh, Hanta...something weird is happening." Iida said.
  "Define weird." I said.
  "Well...a Jeep is driving straight for the gate." Iida said, and Kirishima and I exchanged a look.
  "Kirishima with me, everyone at the ready we have no idea what to expect." I said.
  And every Arcadian grabbed their weapons and got ready. Kirishima and I walked to the gate and the Jeep slowed as he and I stood out front, holding guns.
  The driver's side opened and Shoto jumped out. I smiled. "SHOTO!" I yelled.
  He smiled and exhaled. "Hey Hanta." He said, and Kirishima smiled.
  Shoto walked to the passenger side.

  Shoto-
  I opened the passenger side door. "You ready for this?" I asked.
  "Yeah." Jade said, and I smiled at her.
  She smiled at me and I scooped her in my arms, lifting her out of the Jeep. "Agh!" She grunted in pain.
  I sat her feet on the ground and she put her arm around my shoulder. I used my other arm to wrap around her waist and hold her leg. "Agh!" Jade grunted.
  I shut the door and Kirishima's face dropped as we began to walk. "Jade?" Hanta asked.
  "JADE!!" Kirishima shouted, and he ran to us as we walked and wrapped her in his arms.
  Jade gripped his neck tightly and buried her head into his chest. He held her against his chest for a while before he started to help her limp to the entrance.
  Hanta walked to me and we got in the Jeep and drove it into Arcadia, parking it. Hanta helped me out and then pulled me into a hug.
  I wrapped my arms around him, patting his back. "I missed you so much Hanta." I said.
  "Yeah...me too." Hanta said, as we gripped each other tightly and then let off.
  "What happened here?" I asked.
  "It's a long story." Hanta said.
  I chuckled. "Where did you get the Jeep?" Hanta asked.
  I placed my hands on my hips and laughed. "It's a long story." I said, and he helped me walk to the doctor's tent right behind Kirishima and Jade.

  Jade-
  "Mmm...thanks Eijiro" I said, and Kirishima nodded.
  "Jade?" Mom asked.
  I teared up. "Mom!" I exclaimed, crying and her and dad ran to me, hugging me.
  I gripped them and just cried. "JADE!!" Seth and Elarza shouted, running in and hugging me too.
  I held my entire family and cried. "I missed you guys so much!" I cried.
  "We missed you too baby." Mom said, and I gripped them tighter.
  Shoto smiled at me, and then Midoriya, Tetsu, Yo, and Bakugo all came in. The eight of us embraced tightly and just held each other.
  "You're home....you're home." Bakugo said, and I cried as I held the seven of them against me.
  "I'm so happy!" I exclaimed, crying and they all pulled me into them, but after I said hi to everyone, the exhaustion finally hit and I was sound asleep on one of the hammocks in the doctor's tent.

Shoto-
She was out, the pain could finally settle in. Hanta sat beside me. "I messed up Hanta." I said.
"What? You brought her home, Shoto...that's not messing up." Hanta said.
"No...I...Hanta, they strapped her and I to chairs with polygraphs and electroshock mechanisms and forced us to answer a lot of questions about our relationships. If we lied, zap goes the other person. I lied to Jade...and she got electrocuted. She didn't lie, not once. What kinda person does that make me?" I asked.
Hanta sighed. "Someone who's scared that if they reveal their true feelings...they'll be hurt and betrayed...because that's been your whole life." Hanta said, and I looked over him...he was speaking from experience. "She'll understand, I mean hell, she forgave Kirishima for shooting her in the spine, tearing her ACL, and ruining her life." Hanta said.
"This feels different. I mean...she was... tortured." I said.
Hanta sighed. "I'm not gonna lie to you, it's gonna take some time but...she'll forgive you." Hanta said.
I nodded, looking at her as she slept soundly on the hammock.
