After Jimmy narrated the incident that took place, complete silence filled the room.
Cornelius looked blankly at Lexis who was still unconscious,he know remembered why Lexis was a bit familiar because he was the drunk man that was questioning his life and goals at the cemetery.
Who would have thought,they would meet again,talk less of under this circumstance.
Gratitude filled his heart at Lexis selflessness and he silently promised himself that he would protect the young man who was lying in the hospital bed fighting for his life.
"If you would excuse me,I need to make a call."Cornelius didn't wait for their responses before exiting the room.
He had this hunch that the accident wasn't a random thing but a plot,what he didn't know was the objective of the plotter.
"I need you to check about the accident at xxxxx orphanage in the next five minutes and try retrieving the CCTV footage from the incident,spread the word that all the victims involved are in a critical condition and try preventing anyone from coming to the hospital to check about the victims conditions."
"Yes Sir."Cornelius hanged up looking into nothing,no one knew what he was thinking about nor what was he plotting.
Meanwhile, Miguel was angrily destroying every valuable furnitures in his room,venting out his anger on them which alarmed the servants so one of them called Jim Hamilton to tell him about his son's outburst.
"What is going on here?"After thirty minutes,an angry Jim barged into his son's room looking at the damages that his son had done.
"Would you quit this tantrums and tell me what the hell is going on?"Jim angrily asked Miguel,who stopped destroying the furnitures after hearing the anger in his father's voice.
"Cornelius,he would kill me,please Dad don't let him kill me please,save me from his wrath."As if he had lost his mind,he hugged his confused father while murmuring those words.
"Calm down and tell me why Cornelius would kill you."
"I did it!"
"Miguel,what did you do?"
"Sorry,I did it."
"Did what?"
"I paid the truck driver to stage the accident but that guy from no where came and he got hit,that wasn't the plan,I had to get hit then Uncle Jimmy would to love me again but that guy spoilt everything and now Cornelius would kill me."Blood drained from Jim's face at his son's confession,he detached himself from Miguel looking at the latter unfocused eyes while shouting that he did it.
"What have you done?"Now anger run through Jim's face at his son's confession,why was Miguel an evil spawn like his birth mother.
"I didn't mean it,I was terrified because Uncle started being indifferent around me so I planned to get hit by the truck while saving him so that he could bring his attention to me again and that I will tell him I followed him to the orphanage to apologize for my scandal so that he loves me again but that guy from no where,came and spoilt everything,please Dad don't let Cornelius get his hands on me after everything I have done to him,he would kill me."
"You're evil!"Exclaimed a bewildered Jim who looked at Miguel with blank eyes while remembering the past,the day his brother got killed by an accident.
