Cornelius wondered, why the sudden invitation from his Papa, to have breakfast at the mansion,when it has been a month now he left the mansion because of the constant persuation by his Papa to allow Miguel come work in the company to which he reluctantly agreed for two reasons,one to make his Papa happy and the other is to keep a close look out for his enemy and in this case his beloved cousin, Miguel.
"Good morning Papa."He greeted his Papa warmly, but felt sour when he saw the other person seated next to his Papa with his usual white lotus face which today had tears snaking down on his face.
"Good morning cuz."Miguel said tearfully as his sobbing made him unable to form words properly and made his Papa give the snake his undivided attention even forgetting to respond to the greeting of his son.
"Oh dear Mimi,uncle told you to stop crying so dry your tears because I will make sure your name is cleared hon."Miguel nodded crying a bit in my father's arms like a kid conveying his grief to his parent.
Now Cornelius felt like a third wheel in this 'parent-child drama' and somehow a bit salty at the close bond of the two.
Jimmy beaconed the servant to bring the dishes so that they could start eating.The atmosphere was tense but Jimmy couldn't sense it or rather pretended to not sense it all.
"Corny, Papa has a favour to ask you please."They had finished having their breakfast when they decided to move to the living room to talk.
Cornelius felt nostalgic at the given nickname that his parents gave him and today,he didn't feel giddy that his Papa called him with it because he had a hunch about the direction this conversation was going.
"Papa,wants you to help clear Mimi's name because he has been wrongly accused and now the entertainment media is full of talks about him being a homewrecker in Zayn and Rachel's marriage."Cornelius looked at his Papa who looked nervous after speaking and Miguel who had an angelic face like he could do no harm but a poisonous snake was better off than him.
"No can do, because doing so is like telling the Whites and Harrison family that the Hamiltons would be going to war with them plus the photo shows clearly that the sn__ Miguel was kissing Rachael."Miguel looked a bit shocked at the words of his cousin because he thought coming here to his uncle and convincing his stupid uncle with some water works would allow him convince Cornelius to buy off all the media talking about his affair with Rachael and shut them up.
"Cornelius,trust me I was framed and Rachael and I are just friends plus she called me so that we can have a conversation and plan Zane's birthday."Miguel hurriedly cooked up some story to save his ass and not let Jimmy suspect him but he forgot that Cornelius was out to get him.
"Understandable cousin but who goes to see the spouse of his best friend in a hotel room, in revealing clothes that was better off naked to talk about arrangements of his friends birthday plus forceful kiss her and literally throwing yourself at her?"I questioned Miguel who looked to have swallowed shit and my Papa who looked unsure now about the accuracy in what Miguel had told him plus I wasn't done yet.
"I was framed."The dumbass couldn't come up with a better alibi and said this rather.
"If so then why is there a video circulating online with you confessing your undying love for Rachel and throwing yourself at her begging her to take you back and forcefully kissing her to which Zane appeared and gave you the slap of your life."Papa looked sick at my revelation but a part of him still believed in his holier than thou Miguel.
"Do you have evidence to back the words coming out of your mouth about your cousin?"Papa asked to which I opened a famous blog that had the video on his page, with billions of people viewing the video and cursing out Miguel.
I pass the phone to him whose face looked so ugly each time the video continues then passing the phone back to me looking at Miguel with cold eyes.
"I am really disappointed with you, Miguel Hamilton and I don't desire to see your face at the mansion for now."Miguel looked shocked and pained at my Papa's words trying beg him that he was inocent before Claire came to drag him out of the mansion.
I looked at the door staring into nothing as whatever Miguel has done to make plays in my mind.
Swearing to myself that this was just the beginning.
