Mix father's expression softened with understanding as he turned to Earth. "I am so sorry, Earth. I didn't know my son would be back today."

Then, he addressed Mix with a warm smile. "Mix, this is Earth, my friend's son. He's a lawyer who came to our village to help me settle the case. Your mum is at your grandma's today, so I couldn't ask her to clean up the guest room. I asked Earth to stay in your room instead."

Mix's eyes widened in surprise as he realized the connection between his boss and his father. "Dad, Mr. Pirapat is my boss," he blurted out, feeling a mixture of astonishment and confusion.

The headman's expression mirrored Mix's astonishment. "What? I didn't know about this," he exclaimed, clearly taken aback by the revelation. "What a coincidence! Maybe you guys can share the same room tonight."

Mix and Earth exchanged uncertain glances, unsure of how to respond to the unexpected proposition. But before they could protest, the headman ushered them towards the room, a gentle smile on his face.

"Come on, it's late. Let's not stay up any longer," he said kindly. "Mix, why don't you wash up and turn in early? You both have a big day ahead of you tomorrow."

With a nod of resignation, Mix complied, feeling a mix of apprehension and curiosity about sharing a room with his boss.

As Mix finished washing up and emerged from the bathroom, he was surprised to find his boss standing there, waiting for him. There was a moment of awkward silence as they looked at each other, unsure of what to say.

Earth took the opportunity to break the silence, offering an apology for the unexpected situation. "I'm sorry for intruding on your space, Mix," he said sincerely, his expression contrite.

Mix waved off the apology with a small smile. "It's okay, Mr. Pirapat. I understand it's not your fault."

Feeling a twinge of guilt for displacing Mix from his own room, Earth suggested, "Perhaps I should sleep on the floor tonight. You can take the bed."

But Mix shook his head, refusing the offer. "No, no, I couldn't let you do that, sir. It's my room, after all. Besides, it's just for one night. I'll be perfectly fine on the floor."

Not wanting to intrude further on Mix's hospitality, Earth countered, "Are you sure? I don't want to inconvenience you any further. You should take the bed."

Mix hesitated for a moment before firmly shaking his head. "No, really, I insist. I'll be fine on the floor. Plus, I'll make sure to clean up the guest room tomorrow for you."

With that settled, Mix and Earth exchanged a nod of understanding, silently acknowledging the mutual respect and consideration between them. As they prepared to settle in for the night, neither of them could have predicted the unexpected turn of events that had brought them together.

But as they faced the prospect of sharing a room for the night, they both knew that it was just the beginning of a journey that would test their assumptions, challenge their preconceptions, and ultimately, forge a bond that transcended the boundaries of their professional relationship.
