As they drew closer, a cat darted out of the bushes, its fur bristling with fright as it disappeared into the darkness. Earth and Mix let out a collective sigh of relief, the tension easing from their bodies.

Earth gave Mix a comforting squeeze on the hand, offering a reassuring smile. "It's just a cat, Mix.

Nothing to be afraid of," he said softly, his voice calm and soothing.

Mix nodded, his grip on Earth's arm loosening as he relaxed. "Thank goodness," he replied, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

Earth chuckled at Mix's scared facial expression, sensing an opportunity to tease him a bit. "Mix, are you afraid of ghosts?" he asked, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.

Mix's eyes widened in surprise at the unexpected question, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "Wha...ehm, n...no," he stammered, his voice slightly unsteady as he denied the accusation.

Earth couldn't resist teasing Mix a bit further, enjoying his reaction. "No? Really? That's good to hear," he replied with a playful grin, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

Mix's cheeks flushed even deeper at Earth's teasing, feeling a mixture of embarrassment and relief. "Why?" he asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.

"Oh, nothing," Earth replied casually, his tone teasing. "I just saw something behind our back that keeps following..."

Before Earth could finish his sentence, Mix's eyes widened in alarm, and he quickly reached out to hug Earth, seeking comfort and protection. "W...where is it, sir? What's following us, sir? Please, can we go home now?" he pleaded, his voice trembling with fear.

Earth couldn't help but chuckle at Mix's reaction, finding it both endearing and amusing. He felt a warmth spread through him as he looked down at Mix, realizing just how much he cared for his clumsy but lovable assistant.

With a gentle smile, Earth wrapped his arms around Mix, returning the hug. "There, there, Mix. It's alright. There's nothing to be afraid of," he reassured him, his voice calm and soothing.

Mix buried his face in Earth's chest, finding solace in his comforting embrace. He felt embarrassed by his own fear, but at the same time grateful for Earth's understanding and support.

After a moment, Earth gently pulled away from the hug, his hand resting on Mix's shoulder. "Come on, let's head home," he said softly, guiding Mix back in the direction of their house.

Mix nodded, his heart still racing from the brief moment of panic. "Thank you, sir," he murmured gratefully, feeling a sense of relief wash over him.

As they walked, Earth kept a protective arm around Mix, ensuring that he felt safe and secure. With each step, their bond grew stronger, forged by moments of laughter, understanding, and mutual support.

Together, they continued their journey home, their friendship strengthened by their shared experiences and the unspoken connection that had formed between them. And as they walked side by side through the quiet night, Earth couldn't help but feel grateful for the unexpected friendship he had found in Mix.
