Harry sat in the library studying with his two best friends. Hermione and Ron. They had a huge potion quiz coming up in two hours, and Hermoine forced them here to make sure they had done some last-minute studying.

"Ugh...I'm going to fail; either way, it doesn't make sense I study," Ron groaned as he slammed the book he was reading shut.

"You might if you take an interest and stop being so lazy, Ronald," Hermione scolded him, but Ron just rolled his eyes.

A house-elf popped up beside Harry and handed him a note before popping away again.

Harry read the notes and stood gathering his books, "Dumbledore wants me in his office," he informed his friend, who shot him curious glances.

Harry left the library and headed toward the headmaster's office. He said the password, and the statue spun to reveal the spiral staircase.

He climbed the stairs and knocked at the headmaster's door. He heard a voice calling for him to come in and enter. Harry looked at the headmaster and then at a man standing near the fireplace.

"You needed me, headmaster?" Harry asked, standing by the door.

"Yes, my boy. It seems that Auror has come to take you to their office for some business," Dumbledore said, standing from behind his desk and motioning for Harry to follow him as he went to the Fireplace.

"Shall we be going then?" Dumbledore asked, and the auror frowned at the old wizard.

"I'm sorry, headmaster, but your presence is not required for this," the auror said, leading Harry into the fireplace.

"You can't take him without my presence," Dumbledore protested, but the Auror paid him no mind and floo'ed Harry away. Leaving a grumpy old coot behind.

Harry stumbled as they appeared in an office; he looked around and saw a lady, a man, and a goblin.

"Mr. Potter, you're here today because we want to do an inheritance test on you," The lady said, and Harry was confused; he had been told he didn't have an inheritance.

"You and Mr. Black will have to come with me to Gringotts, as I didn't bring what was needed here with me," The goblin said, and Harry assumed the man looking at him with unreadable eyes was Mr. Black.

The goblin held out a hand to Harry, which he took before resting his other hand on Mr. Black's arm.

Harry felt the familiar pull in an apparition, and a few seconds later, they were in a different office.

The goblin moved behind the desk, pulled out two pieces of paper, and slid them over to Harry. "So, Mr. Potter, the way this is done is that you use the dagger to poke your finger and get five drops of blood on each parchment," the goblin said, and Harry did as he was told.

The blood swirled on the paper, becoming words, and the goblin picked them up and read them. A deep frown appeared on his face as he slipped the papers to Mr. Black, who read them and immediately started to sob.

"What's wrong?" Harry asked. Mr.Black took a deep breath, placed the papers on the table, and looked at Harry.

He stood from his chair and knelt in front of Harry. "My cub," he said softly, reaching out and taking Harry's hand.

"Cub?" Harry asked, frowning.

"Yeah, you're my son," Mr. Black said, and Harry's jaw dropped.
