I looked at Deave who was constantly staring at Morana. She wrote a poem about him. Her words were so deep... I knew that I should be hating her but I somewhat felt bad for how hurt she was in love... What if I ever got my heart broken? I was overwhelmed with anxiety.
"Wow... Um... That was beautiful." The teacher exclaimed. Soon some more students volunteered while I tried to write something like this--
'People say close the doors during the storm,
But what about those who find peace in the chaotic calm.
There is a different kind of love in the droplets of rain,
Maybe because they suppress some old wounds and their pain.
As I listen to the sound of the rippling water of the lake.
There is a unique sense of comfort which I am certain isn't fake.
People adore the rain but frown at the mud,
But rain without that smell of wet soil is like a body without blood.
The bright lightening makes an enormous rumble,
They say humans are good, I believe the thunder is humble...'
I think it's not that bad, I actually like it. But unfortunately the teacher didn't take my name.
Next was Magic and defense class.
"I will be calling two students randomly and they will perform a duet fight. let's see what you have got!!" said the teacher. He looked at each one of us and at last called," Princess Morana Algate and..." He looked again. His eyes met mine. No no no no no.... Please not me.
"Sir Deave Baraka!" He finally said. Oh no... This was much worse. Out of all the people he chose them both?!! Is he biased or something?! They both stood in front of each other.
"Greet your partners first."
They both bent down and curtsied each other. They both prepared their positions, hands set to pounce.
"On the count of three... one... two....three!!!" He screamed.
Morana flashed her hands with a powerful magical force ahead as Deave flipped and attacked back. Her magic had a strong force. I could see magic flashing here and there and could hear various chants. Morana was extremely good and Deave was well aware about her moves. Soon one of Deave's attack hit her on her hand as she shook it.
"Stop!" The teacher announced," Deave go and wrap your opponent's wound, we aren't in a war so it is our duty to help them." He handed him the bandage. Deave looked at the teacher with utter grossness.
He went towards Morana, took her hand and wrapped the bandage saying, "One should never fall weak no matter who the opponent is, Morana. Be careful next time."
"How ironic it is... The people healing your wounds today are the one who made them this deeper." Morana looked in his eyes. They gazed at each other for a moment. Their eyes were saying a lot. I felt that deep inside Deave did care for Morana as well. People say it correctly, When a person is hurt, their speech becomes poetic.
He let go of his hand and stood back between the group. We practiced some more till we were all exhausted. The class was over and it was recess now. I could finally ask Deave about what happened.
I walked towards him," We need to talk." I slowly whispered. He followed me to the side.
"I thought you weren't coming today!"
"Well, I wasn't but then I thought that the school library might be handy, so I was snooping around it while classes were going on and did you know why I got caught?"
