Chapter 15: Faye's Vow

 I released Alaric out of my captivity, took a deep breath and began–

"Queen Cortenya Kuro, fellow Royals, commissioners in chief and the respected prosecution, I, Princess Faye Algate of Dicendia would like to put a question on the prosecution and their investigation. There were three witnesses and three suspects during the crime. The witnesses were-I, prince Alaric and the worthy queen herself and the suspects were-Sir Deave Baraka, Emily Euhan and Morana Algate. During this, Sir Deave Baraka surrendered that he was the culprit and he got arrested and they proceeded further with the ritual."

"Yes, this happened and I believe that this is not wrong." The announcer- prosecutor announced. I will actually snap his neck off...

"But according to the law book that the prosecution follows, after every crime, a proper investigation and interrogation with all the suspects and witnesses is conducted irrespective of a surrender because our world is magical and people can be framed very easily. Perhaps, this was not followed by the Prosecution itself." I proved my point, this attempt might just save Deave. The crowd began discussing, large whispering sounds took over the ground. The prosecutors were silent during this. What could they even say?

"Another point to be noted is during any execution or interrogation, the specific suspects are required to be present but Morana Algate is not present at the moment. I believe that the laws made by the prosecution are strictly not being followed and I certainly believe it won't happen properly again, if the case is rescheduled. So, It is my humble request to the prosecution community, the Calhoun royal family, Tessa's parents whom I owe my forgiveness and condolence to handle me over this case to investigate. I require a time period of one month to solve this and I guarantee to serve justice to Tessa De Lune." I brought a pause to my words.

I hope this works... If this doesn't work then I don't know what to do. I need the support of the kings and queens of various kingdoms so that there can be a pressure laid on the prosecution. My father stood up.

"I believe this will be correct." My father stood up.

"The prosecution has shown a very careless attitude and disrespect to the laws. I also agree with Arthur. Princess Faye Algate should be granted a time period of one month." King Rowan Redstone, Adele's father, stood up and declared.

"But she is a minor, how can she investigate?" A guy sitting next to the announcer said.

"The prosecution consists of majors but they didn't do it either. So, I think it's safe to trust a minor." Alaric supported me. All the Royals nodded. A smile grew on my face.

"But–" The announcer began talking but Cortenya raised her hand and he shut up.

"I myself feel that Faye is correct. I grant you a time period of one month to prove Deave Baraka's innocence." Cortenya declared her statement.

"But Princess Algate, what if you can't prove Deave' innocence? According to the law book it also states that an investigation by an outsider needs to take an oath, Which if not fulfilled marks as a penalty for the wastage of time of the prosecution." The announcer smirked. I sigh.

"I swear upon the dead soul of the ex-king of Dicendia, Lt. Chan-Si-Fu and upon the crown that shines above my head that If I am unable to complete my oath to prove Deave Baraka's innocence, I shall give up on my crown." I set forth my vow.

I was shaking deep inside. There were tears in Deave's eyes, he was only a few feet away from me, sitting on the ground, his feet completely burned. This guy is crazy, he walked on burning coal, just to save his lover... His eyes try to tell me something, they are telling me not to do this. It will not be easy to prove. I might just lose my crown and my place from the royal family but nothing is more important than my friends. I will always be loyal to them, always.
