I understood by the handwriting whose letter it was… Those Jumpy words, I had seen them in Morana’s diary. I lost my voice. My father got killed because of me, I am a monster, I am his murderer. First Grandpa died because of me and now My dad.
The letter dropped from my hand. My mouth opened but nothing came out. Suddenly Alaric’s voice reaches my ears, “GUARDS!!” He screamed but no response came. He shouted again, his voice breaking in between. Soon two royal guards appeared, panting as they hit there left foot greeting the prince when suddenly there eyes saw the horror.
“I want that Bitch in front of me till morning!” He ordered.
“Par-Pardon your highness, but w-who?” One of them slowly asked. Alaric’s face burned with pain and anger and it felt as if he would snap his neck out any moment. There was silence for a while.
“MORANA ALGATE! I want her infront of me begging by tomorrow!”
He finally announced.“Leave now!” He screamed as the guards startled by what was going on quickly left the court. All of this happened at my back, I just seemed to be guessing what their reaction was.
“Faye.” Deave suddenly calls me. I didn’t respond, I stood still as a statue. My hands were still in the position of holding the letter but the letter was on the blood stained floor.
This can’t possibly be true, I tell myself again and again ignoring the fact what my eyes had seen. How peacefully the whole kingdom was asleep not aware that the king they loved the most had been murdered by someone who hated his daughter. I would never be able to forgive myself.
“Faye!” Alaric jerks me. I suddenly escaped my thoughts and his red eyes met my flooded ones.
I shrug his arms away from my shoulders as I step back, “It’s all my fault. It’s all my fault…”
“Faye, Calm down… It’s not your fault.” Deave said, his blue eyes had tears, his face pale as sand.
“Faye please don’t act this way I beg you. You are creeping the hell out of me.”Alaric said trying to get hold of me again. His ears were red.
I push him away, “D-Don’t you touch me! I am a monster! Stay away from me! You will get hurt.” I cried.
“Faye–”
“It was I who deserve to die, not him– I – I– He died because of–me. I can Never forgive myself for this.”
“Faye no one deserves to die–”
“I do Ric, I do. Grandpa lost his life earlier and now Dad did– I deserve to die.” I step back more, as I almost step on a body. I look down, there are daggers in his chest. I stare at them blankly.
“FAYE FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE! Don’t do something–” Ric notices.
I grab a dagger out of bloody chest as Alaric screams, “NO!!” and just about when it reaches a centimeter away from my heart, something pulls it away as it drops on the ground. I notice Deave, His hand in a position of magic. His fae ears flickering.
I start to cry like a wild child again as my my head felt dizzy all over, I felt as if I would collapse. Alaric rushes to me crying and so does Deave, they both hug me.
“Please Faye, I can’t loose you as well. Don’t you ever try to do such stupidity again!”
“What will I tell Mamma?” I slowly ask him as the thunder strucks again.
Suddenly their is silence, And I hear footsteps and a very familiar and sleepy voice, “Emily dear, Did you hear the screams as well?”
“Yes, Your highness, I first felt they were just in my mind but now you are saying it too, So I guess they were real.” A sweet voice reaches our ears, It was mother and Emily. I look at Alaric and Deave. I start to panic.
