Chapter 23- The perfect girl

When we came back from our mission in The Land of Waves, we almost immiediately got permission to rest. So I made my way to my apartment. It was already dark outside but I didn't mind. I love gazing at the stars and especially at the moon. I looked down on my ring finger. The jewelry Pain gave me was still there. With kanji 月 (tsuki) engraved on it. I unconsciously put my palm on my neck. I widened my eyes. My necklace! It's gone! I started trembling. It was the only souvenir I had left from my mother.

Mom, I'm so sorry..

I opened the door to my apartment and trotted over to the bed. I couldn't help but let my tears fall. I'll write Itachi a letter in the morning. I just.. can't right now..

A certain Uchiha with an orange mask kneeled down and took the said sheet of paper. He scanned through every word.

I quickly got in my ninja outfit and made my way to the Hokage's office.

I gently knocked on the door.

-Lord Hokage- I greeted.
