Chapter 26- Genin take down. All 10 rookies face off!

-Glad you came, Sakura- Kakashi uttered as he stood infront of us- For your sake and the others.

Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto looked at our sensei surprised.

-Now, you can all formally register for the Chunnin Exam.

-Why, what do you mean?- Sakura spoke up.

-You see, only groups of three, in your case, four, are allowed to apply for and take the exam- the silver-haired man concluded- That's the way it's always been.

-But sensei, you said the decision to take the exam was up to the individual- the pink-haired girl muttered.

-That's right. I did.

-W-was that a lie?

-Sort of. It is an individual decision, but it affects all of you. I didn't tell you before because I didn't want the others pressuring you. At the same time, I didn't want you to feel obliged to participate because of any feelings you might have for Ruri.

I widened my eyes. So it's that noticable?

-I wanted you to come to the decision of your own free will.

-Wait a minute- Sakura started- Do you mean if the others had shown up but I decided to not come with them-

-It would have been the end of the line. If you hadn't come along, I couldn't have let the others in. But it's a moot point. You're all here and for the right reasons. Sakura. Naruto. Sasuke. And Ruri. I'm proud of you- Kakashi smiled- I couldn't ask for a better team. Good luck.

-We won't let you down sensei! Believe it!- Naruto vowed as we opened the door to the classroom.

-W-what. What's this?- the yellow-haired boy trembled as we walked in.

-Gee. I guess we're not alone!- Sakura widened her eyes.

Before us stood a mass of different kinds of ninja, all who seemed way older than us. Yeah. What do I say? I'm the youngest here.

-Man. I had no idea there'd be so much competition- the green-eyed girl muttered.

-Ruri-chan, where have you been?- a girly voice spoke up.

Ino jumped on me with her arms around my neck- Boy you have no idea how much I was hoping you'd show up here! I've missed those broody good looks of yours!

Really? Am I that attractive?

-Hey, you porker! Back off, she's mine!- Sakura shouted while pointing a finger at the blondie.

-Oh, Miss forehead they let you in? Still got those big frown lines on your billboard brow I see!

-Leave my forehead out of it!

Then, Ino, as if to mock Sakura, stuck her tongue out at the girl.

-Oh it's you guys- Shikamaru and Choji came up to us- I knew this was gonna be a drag but I didn't know it was gonna be this lame.

-Oh. It's the idiot trio- Naruto retorted.

-Hey, you know what pipsqueak! Ah forget it, you're a waste of time- Shikamaru murmured.

-Well, well what do you know.. It looks like the whole gang's back together- Kiba and his squad joined in.

-Oh, hi Ruri-chan- Hinata muttered.

-Hey Hinata!

-Hey! Back off of my Ruri-chan!- Ino yelled.

The darkblue-haired girl whimpered.
