Alexander walks through the corridors of the Castle back to his room, his latest conversation with Arabella replaying in his mind and making him think that he is getting tired of her resistance. He needs to find a way through it.
However, both his walk and thoughts are stopped when a servant approaches him and informs him that the King has summoned him to his study. Alexander dismisses the servant and smiles, the thought that maybe Josh might be able to help him crossing his mind. All that he needs is to make sure that Josh understands just how perfect Alexander is for Arabella and that will be that.
Arriving at Josh's study, Alexander quickly takes a seat across from his friend, a smile on his lips and his posture relaxed. Little does he know that that won't last long.
-"You wanted to see me?"
-"It's time for you to return home. You've been away for too long already." - Josh's eyes don't leave his.
-"Oh, that's fine. I can stay longer. I left detailed instructions that allow me to stay in Court for a lot longer." - He smiles at Josh.
-"You're not understanding me. I'm not suggesting you return home. I'm ordering you, as your King, to return home."
-"What's this about, Josh? What's going on?" - Alexander sits up, his body now tense, as he watches Josh standing up.
-"I warned you to leave Bella alone, but you chose to ignore me, which in return led to your trading agreements with Henry to be ended. Then there was the whole thing with your men and the two young women from Henry's Kingdom."
"Still, Henry was graceful enough to resume trade with you, but only because of me, since he didn't want to punish my people because of something you did. Because of you, an alliance with Henry was almost lost and a possible marriage agreement was ended before it even had the chance to begin."
"All of this was more than enough reason for me to send you home, still I didn't and that was my mistake, all because I believed that you would eventually do the right thing."
"However, the moment you put your hands on Bella, that was the moment you earned yourself a one way ticket for the dungeons. And the only reason why you're going home instead is because Bella knows we have been friends for many years and believes that sending you home is enough."
-"I don't know what she has told you, but I have done nothing of the sort." - Alexander stands, pretend outrage spread across his face.
-"I don't believe you and I will take Bella's word over yours any day of the week."
-"Unbelievable. We have been friends since we were children and you're gonna take the word of some woman who betrayed her father and Kingdom for a man."
-"Yes, Bella betrayed her father, but it wasn't for a man, it was to try to protect two Kingdoms." - Now Josh is pissed. -"Not to mention that Bella has been a loyal friend over the years, which is more than I can say about you."
-"What's that supposed to mean?"
-"Ever since we were children, I've been cleaning up your messes, Alexander, but enough is enough. Guards!" - Josh is done. -"Escort Lord Roberts to his room so he can pack and then escort him out of the Castle."
-"Is this how you want to end our friendship? By taking the side of a woman that isn't worth both our times?"
-"Watch your mouth, otherwise you might just end up in the dungeons after all." - Josh growls.
-"One day, Josh, one day you're gonna regret this."
Alexander storms out, the guards following him closely. Josh sits back down and lets out a breath, thinking that he should've done this sooner. But maybe now that Alexander is leaving, he can do something to help Bella and Henry.
