Why Am I Here?

Bella wakes up to the sound of the door to her cell opening, two days after she received that mysterious note. She stands up, seeing two guards walk in and telling her that the King will see her now.

"It's about damn time.", she thinks, as she nods and lets them lead her out of her cell and the dungeon, all the way to the upper levels of her father's Castle. So many memories flood her mind, most from when her mother was still alive, that almost make her falter in her pace.

She keeps her head high as she walks through the corridors, in full view of everyone, not letting the looks of pity, anger and surprise get to her. She knows what they are all thinking and she doesn't care one bit.

Bella is taken to the Throne Room and is not surprised when she sees that is full of people, her father sitting on his throne, her stepmother sitting next to him, and a young boy, the same age as Alexis, standing on the other side.

Bella stands in front of the dais, her back straight and her head still held high.

-"Daughter."

-"Williams."

-"It seems you have lost your manners." - Logan signals the guards and they force Bella on her knees.

-"Yes, well, six days in the dungeons will do that."

-"I did consider leaving you there longer, but I figured six days were enough." - Logan smirks at her.

-"Why am I here?"

-"What? Can't a father miss his daughter? A daughter that was taken and turned against him by the enemy?"

-"That's not what happened and you know it. Now, why am I here?" - There's a slight edge to her voice that doesn't go unnoticed.

-"I wanted you to meet your brother." - The boy looks back at her, contempt all over his face.

-"I wonder what other lies did you and your wife told him about me for him to be giving me that look."

-"I told him no lies, only what happened."

-"Even that is a lie." - Bella shakes her head. -"Just tell me why I'm here already."

Bella sees Logan pull a piece of paper and handing it over to a valet, who brings it to her.

-"Do you know what that means?" - Bella hears him say, as she recognizes the seal, not needing to read the words inside.

-"It means you're in trouble and that Josh will be coming for you." - Bella smirks, hearing people shuffling uncomfortably, remembering what happened the last time her father and Josh went to war with each other.

-"I'm not afraid of Josh." - He chuckles.

-"It has nothing to do with fear. Josh will be coming for you, unless..."

-"Unless, what?"

-"Unless you free me. If you do, I might be able to stop Josh."

-"That is not going to happen. You're here for a reason."

-"And what's that?"

-"You will be your brother's first official execution."
