That's Odd

Four days. Four, long, miserable days. That's how long Bella has been in her father's dungeon and the man has yet to come to see her. The only people she sees are the guards outside her cell or the ones that bring her food.

Logan never came to see her the day she arrived and no matter how much she demands to see him, she is always told the same thing, that he will come and see her soon.

Bella is sitting on the floor in a corner of her cell, when a guard comes in with a tray with food. This strikes Bella as odd, since she doesn't believe it's time for her meal. She has become quite certain about when her meals are delivered.

The man places the tray across from her, determination in his eyes as he looks at her and then at the tray, making her suspicious of what is happening, nodding at her before leaving the cell.

Bella approaches the tray and looks it over, not seeing anything out of the ordinary. But seeing the lack of fear in the man's eyes, a constant in every other guard that delivers her food, she knows something is not quite right.

She carefully grabs the napkin and that's when she feels it. The napkin is stiffer than usual, something being wrapped inside of it, confusion now fully setting in within her.

Bella opens the napkin carefully and silently, seeing a note inside. She quickly opens it and reads, the words almost blurring due to the tears that fill her eyes. "Alexis is safe. The Devil is coming."

She lets out a silent sigh of relief and wills the tears away, before taking some water out of her mug and dropping it on the paper, mushing it into nothing, before the guard notices it.

If Henry is coming for her, that means that Alexis made it to the Castle safely and was able to tell him what had happened. However, Bella knows that she needs to keep that information to herself, since she doesn't know how much her father knows about Henry and his alliance with Josh, or even about his desire to court her.

But there's something that's bothering her. Bella wonder who sent her that message. She doesn't remember Henry ever mentioning that he had people in her father's Court. She probably should've asked, but at the time it didn't occurred to her to ask.

Nonetheless, whoever this person is, they have put themselves in danger to get that message to her. And, hey, at least she is not completely alone.
