Oh, how I hate it when  people point out my weight is.
Oh, how I hate it when people tease me for being skinny.
Oh, how I hate it when people make fun of someone's inadequacies.
Before you noticed those things, they have already noticed it themselves.
They have already been struggling because of it.
They have already been feeling small because of it...
silently and quietly
pondering why they are not who they want to be.
Stop rubbing pinches of salt on someone's wound.
You have no idea how much courage it took for me to properly look at my reflection in the mirror.
You have no idea how long I have been holding through the broken pieces of myself.
You have no idea what I went through to address these insecurities of mine only to kill it with a single joke.
Not because you find it humorous, it means it was funny.
Not because it wasn't your intention, it could justify what you said.
Be sensitive enough,
and learn to distinguish a joke from an insult.
Be mindful enough,
and know whether your remark may inadvertently offend someone.
