Hinata:f..fudge

*Hinata cursed, or her version of cursing at least, since she thought she was gonna get away with not talking about her past. But Naruto just smiled at her*

Naruto:i believe it is time you started talking

Now

Hinata:before....before I talk about what happened to me in the chunnin exams, which was the day I was disowned.

Naruto:please take your time. And have some tea, the tale hasn't started, and yet I can already see the stress in your face

*Naruto said calmly, serving Hinata from cup kettle number 2. Hinata smiled a little in appreciation, and she took a small sip*

Kenshin:why did you order 2 kettles?

Naruto:so that you both don't drink tea, that been spit on

*Naruto said calmly, drinking his tea from kettle number one. Both Kenshin and Hinata looked at him with raised eyebrow, but the whispers and cackles from the back confirmed it for them*

Hinata:t..then why are you drinking it?

Kenshin:wait, wait, let me guess. It's all part of the game?

*Kenshin asked chuckling. Naruto joined in the chuckle, shrugging his shoulders, with a crooked grin*

Naruto:in part. But it's more so that they would only spit to the kettle I drink instead of you two, since this drink is quite delicious. I would hate it if both of you, would've gotten a bad experience because of my past actions. Though I do hope they do the same to the dangos, so I don't have to share them

*Naruto said with a teasing grin, Hinata giggled softly, and Kenshin just rolled his eyes amused, the 3 of them just sat there drinking tea, as they waited for the dangos to arrive*

Hinata:I....I guess I should start in the beginning. My....my mother was always a frail woman, getting sick constantly. So when she got pregnant with me they were....complications to say the least.

*Hinata said, taking a break to sip her tea, so to calm down. It's been so long since she talked about her mother. Honestly, she doesn't even remember what she looks like, given that her father didn't even let her take a picture of her, when he exiled her*

Hinata:she managed to give birth to me. But the doctors told her that she wouldn't be able to have another child, without a great risk to her health. Giving that I've talked about my sister Hanabi, I'm sure you both know where this is going

*Hinata said with a sad sigh, she smiled a little when Kenshin rubbed her shoulder to give her some support. She took another sip of her admittedly delicious tea, and kept the story going*

Hinata:the elders of my clan, didn't like that the main branch only had 1 child. There should always be 2 in case the first one dies on the field, or at least that was the law.

Naruto:such an outdated law. Even in iron country, arguably the most traditionalist of the elemental nations, would never enforce such a law. Can't believe your father would agree to such a rule, knowing how frail your mother was

*Naruto interrupted before taking a sip of his tea, kenshin nodded in agreement, and Hinata could do nothing more then shrug and take another sip*

Hinata:To give my father at least a little credit, at first he resisted there calls, knowing how frail and weak my mother was. It took a few years, but the demands became too much for him to bare, my mother could see that it was taken a toll on him, so against his wishes she agreed on having another child, to appease the elders. So at least in that aspect, my father deserves a bit of credit
