One more tomorrow

Hours passed inside the tent, surrounded by the bustling noise of traders exchanging stories and gossip. The crackling fire and the aroma of meat on the spit enticed many to join the encampment. The tent provided enough space to lay down, with makeshift cots and a fold-away table and chair, creating a comfortable retreat in this wasteland. There was a small flap at the top of the tent where the fabric hadn't been properly fixed, allowing a slice of starlit sky to be visible.

Lying on my back, I gazed up at the sky while Y/N flicked through images on her pipboy. They were pictures of people from her vault, friends, family, and neighbors. In this world, the ordinary had become extraordinary.

Feeling relaxed, I decided to take off my leather holsters, jacket, and boots. I hung my hat on a nail hammered into one of the tent poles and grabbed two glasses from the table.

"Moonshine in the moonshine," I absentmindedly said, pouring the cloudy liquid and taking a tentative sip. I couldn't help but hope that the Gary's had found this rather than made it themselves.

"Two Gary's," Y/N said, looking at her health data.

"About 50 Gary's, to be specific," I replied, taking another gulp of the alcohol

"About 50 Gary's, to be specific," I replied, taking another gulp of the alcohol.

"How?" she asked, looking puzzled, as she accepted the second glass from me.

"Just another Vault-Tec experimental vault gone wrong," I explained. I had told her about some of the major vaults and their cruel experiments, but Vault 108 was almost too bizarre to mention. "Each one of them a clone, and each one of those clones more batshit than the last."

"I don't... I don't understand," she said, taking a sip and making a disgusted face.

"There's no sense in trying to make sense out of nonsense, darlin'," I replied.

"My dad knew about all of this?" she asked.

"Some, all of it, most of it..." I answered.
"My brother, I need to warn him"
"Your brother is safer than you right now. There's a bounty on your head, undoubtedly taken out by your daddy, and I'm not letting him take you."

She smiled
"I'm gonna take you to him myself."
Her eyes narrowed

"Now what could a Ghoul do with 100,000 caps? And you originally wanted to find your daddy, remember? Plus, I'll make sure you arrive in perfect condition."

I allowed my gaze to travel from her lips, wet with Gary moonshine, down her neck, and to her cleavage displayed through the open buttons of her shirt. She poked me in the shoulder with her finger, her hands completely healed except for a few scratches.

"How selfless of you," she said, rolling her eyes.

"Well, if my survival is a happy byproduct of my selfless act, so be it," I replied.

"However will I repay you, cowboy?" she asked, rising from the bed and taking my hat from where it hung.

She let loose her hair and placed the hat on her head. Her fingers moved to the buttons on her shirt, tantalizingly opening each one, slowly exposing clear flesh from her neck down to her belly button.
