"So we're not going to the city then?" Y/N asks.

"Not half cocked and unprepared, darlin'. I lift Y/N's shirt and check how she is healing. Your daddy already knows we are here, so I guess the element of surprise plan is out of the window."

"Cooper, please tell me that wasn't ever the plan?"

I kiss her forehead.

I carried Y/N last night after Benny showed up for as long as I possibly could until we found an abandoned shack by an old power plant.

The power plants are fed from the Hoover Dam to the south and controlled by the New California Republic. By way of an agreement with Robert House, the NCR runs the power plant and supplies a proportion of the power to the strip in New Vegas to House in exchange for support from him in keeping Caesar's Legion at bay.

Robert House owns the strip and knows everything that goes on in New Vegas.

"To Caesar's Legion, that's where we are going," I say huffing a vial of chems.

"Directly to the guy who tried to kill you? Edward?" Y/N looked at me like I had lost my mind completely

"I'm willing to bet that one of the Legion's bounty hunters took our bounty as a side hustle.

We have been finding wanted posters with our drawings all over the places we have been stopping. A bounty for both of us. We are wanted dead or alive.

It's not like we were inconspicuous either. A ghoul and a vault dweller traveling together.

Although Y/N had become so much more than that, her unique view of the world and hope for people and humanity in general had remained, but she was so resilient and strong. I found the hardened facets of my personality softening by being in her orbit.

Certainly, these emotions and feelings I have for her felt so alien and difficult. I was fighting myself for so long before I finally expressed how I feel. I never thought I would have another chance at feeling like this.

I was dead for so long, not quite physically but mentally and emotionally. That spark that she fired up inside me has burned into a burning hot flame.

Everything she does fills me with desire for her.
