Tamia looked in the mirror of the bathroom and she washed her hands. She dried them and touched up her make up. The door opened and Ria walked in. " There you are, you've only been here five minutes what's up?... Are you okay? You seem really stressed."
"Ria, I'm fine.. it was just a bit stressful leaving home with the kids all over the place that was all, I'll be all right just get me some more of that champagne." She said.
"Okay.. well let's go party." She said and hugged her friend before they left the bathroom. The girls walked back out to where the others were waiting.
She immediately took one of the glasses of champagne from the tray and downed it. She took a deep breath and blew out trying to remain normal in front of her friends keeping a smile pasted on her lips.
She turned to get herself a pink gin from the bar.
"It is you... Tamia....
She turned and looked at Kingston. She smiled. "Hi... oh my god! What are you doing these sides?." She said trying to act like this was the first time she had noticed him or knew that he was even in LA.
"I'm just here on some business. I'm headed back to New York real soon... the one thing I'm glad about is the fact that I got to see you, it's been a long time Tamia, and you look really good.."
"You do too..."
"I was pretty taken back when you just left like that, no word nothing and then the next thing I hear from one of yo friends is that you're here in LA... I thought I was owed an explanation at least?." He said.
"It was hard for me to be with you... the lifestyle that you led, being in charge was too much for me, it was like we barely got to see each other, I felt like I was on my own in the relationship and then when I lost the baby.... I just thought we fell apart.."
"not in my eyes.. I wanted us to try again.."
"I was young Kingston.. I was 18 years old and I lost my baby, I barely ever saw you and I felt more alone than I ever had in my entire life... I felt like I couldn't talk to you you were always too busy you had too much going on in your mind to be bothered with my situation..."
"It was our situation Tam... I lost a baby too, I know I can come across sometimes as hardheaded and hardhearted... But I was feeling it just as much as you that was my son..." he said abruptly.
She nodded "I was 18 and I didn't know how to deal with losing him.... maybe I should've hung around to talk to you.... I just did what I thought was right at the time..."
"so what are you up to now.." he saw the ring on her finger. "You're.married?"
"Yeah.. I got two kids of been married 10 years.."
