We were sat on the floor facing one another, each with a handful of cards, the rest of the deck sitting in between us. "Do you have an 8?" Miles asked in a serious manner, locking eyes with me. I took a deep breath, refusing to break the stare.

"Go fish." I said steadily. I watched as he drew a card from the deck. "Do you have a 3?" I asked, still in a heated stare. His lips twitched into a frown as he glance at his cards, hesitantly, he handed me the card. I smirked.

I know this all seems very overdramatic but I take my games of go fish very seriously. "So I've been thinking," Miles began just before asking if I had a 7.

"Go fish." I said and looked up at him expectantly, waiting for him to continue. He sighed as he drew yet another card from the deck.

"Well, what if we tested out just how," He paused for a moment, seeming to be trying to find the right word. "For lack of a better word, how real, I really am." I thought over the idea and asked if he had a 10.

"Go fish."

I picked up a card and thought over my answer. "Well, I guess that could be a good idea, what 'tests' did you have in mind?" I asked him, using air quotations. He put down his hand of cards and I followed suit.

"Well, can other people see me? Or just you? Can I feel normal human emotions? Do I feel pain, can I die? All of that stuff." He said

"So... You want me to kill you?" I asked jokingly.

"No," He chuckled softly. "I just want to test my limitations."

Overall it was a good idea. He needed comfort to know that he was normal, and I needed something to feed my curiosity. He picked his cards back up with a smirk,

"Jasp, do you have... a 2?" He asked, his smirk turning to a grin.

"You cheated!" I accused.

"I would never!" he said and put his hand over his heart in mock hurt.

"You so did!" I exclaimed and threw my cards at him as he began to laugh.

I laughed with him. We laughed together.
