I woke with a jump, quite literally. Because Miles, and my three siblings were jumping up and down on my bed. "What the-" I was cut off though, as they all sounded with horrible singing.
"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Jasper!" Happy birthday to you!" They all shouted in unison before collapsing on top of me in fits of giggles. My eyes crinkled as I giggled with them.
"Oh what would I do without you guys?" I laughed.
"You wouldn't be able to live without us." My brother, Samuel insisted.
We all sat on my bed chatting aimlessly. Of course everyone was still confused on the Miles situation, but for whatever reason they never questioned it any further. And for that, I was glad. I didn't want to know why he was here because I was just happy that he was here. Soon my parents walked in with gifts in their hands and grins on their faces. "Happy birthday my boy!" My father smiled as he wrapped an arm around my mother who was tearing up.
"My baby boy is all grown up, he's 18." She whimpered. I couldn't help but roll my eyes, that woman was insane. They handed me their gifts that I wasted no time to rip them open.
The first (and the best) Was a camera. and I had never been so excited in my life. I myself had only owned little vacation cameras, but this one was big and bulky and professional looking. I grinned happily as I took my Mother and father in my arms, hugging them tightly and whispering several thankyous. Next was a shared present from my siblings. They bought me a bunch of books that would keep me busy for weeks. And then was one from Miles.
I didn't expect him to get me anything, honestly. But he did and I was grateful. I unwrapped it quickly to find it was a new book, as mine was quickly running out of pages. the cover was leather and had writing scripted on the inside of the cover.
'Write about us, not just me.'
I smiled softly at it and looked into his eyes. "Thanks Miles, it means a lot." I said quietly.
"Of course, happy birthday." He replied, as we watched one another.
"Okay, we'll just leave you two.." I heard my mother say as she pulled my siblings out of my room, the left and once I was sure they were far from hearing distance, I leaned in and shared a kiss with the one and only Miles.
"Birthday sex?" I muttered into his lips, he let out a chuckle and muttered back a, "Maybe later." before pushing me down on the bed and kissing me harder.
This is the best birthday.
