I took Miles by the wrist and harshly tugged him through the crowded hallways, weaving in between students, rushing past couples that found it necessary to basically have dry sex in the middle of the hallway. Few students noticed his fresh face, but those who did also noticed me tugging him through the halls, hand around his wrist. Easily mistaken for hand holding. Some homophobic slurs could be heard from the swarm of jocks standing by a row of lockers. Many whispers from a group of girls by more lockers.
I let out a frustrated sigh as I finally made it to the office. "Hi, this is my friend; Miles Grey. He'd like to enrol here." I smiled at the nurse, she looked at the lanky boy next to me before asking, "Do you have your parents to sign for you?" My eyes widened before I began to stutter out several 'ohs' and 'ums'.
"No I live alone." Miles stated, looking nervous as to if she'd believe it. The nurse sighed and handed him some paperwork and telling us to hand it back when we were done.
He filled out the forms, writing my address in the address box. Just to be safe. "Okay, finished." He said, handing the woman the papers. She looked over the forms, and handed Miles a piece of paper after writing on it.
"This is your schedule and your locker number and combo, have a nice day." She said, looking extremely uninterested.
I looked at his schedule briefly, "Okay we have 3 classes together and your locker is right across the hall from mine."
"I can't wait to meet your friends." Miles smiled happily, making me sigh sadly.
"Yeah well, I don't have any so,"
"What? Surely you've got someone?" He asked desperately.
"Nope, only you." I said making him smirk.
"Y'know," He began. "That kind of makes me your best friend." His smirk turned to a large grin.
I smiled sheepishly at him. "Yeah, yeah I guess you are." I laughed.
