TAEHYUNG POV

After ending the meeting, As I strode into my office, the weight of the meeting still lingering in the air, I sank into the plush embrace of my luxurious chair.

Closing my eyes, I allowed myself a moment of respite, but instead of finding solace, my thoughts were consumed by Lisa. Her petite frame, her doe-like eyes, and the innocence that radiated from her every word.

Her request, seemingly small to others, echoed in my mind. She yearned for my understanding of traditions, oblivious to the fact that I saw through her facade.

I knew her game all too well, for I was not just her son but the product of her cunning manipulations. Yet, despite the tangled web of familial expectations, my heart beats for Lisa alone.

A wry chuckle escaped my lips as I contemplated her naivety. Lisa, sweet Lisa, was unaware of the forbidden love that bound us together.

We were more than mere step-siblings; we were partners in a clandestine union, a union that defied societal norms and familial ties. Our marriage is a whispered secret hidden beneath layers of deceit and obligation.

As I pondered the complexity of our situation, a surge of defiance coursed through my veins. I cared not for the trivialities of tradition; my devotion lay solely with her. Our love, though deemed taboo by the world outside, burned with an intensity that could not be extinguished. And so, with a silent vow, I pledged to protect our bond, no matter the cost.

As the trance of my thoughts was shattered by the jarring ring of my iPhone, I glanced at the screen to see Min Jae's name flashing. With a smirk, I accepted the call, greeted by his familiar voice: "Hello, boss, How are you?"

"I am fine, Min Jae. And the work?" I inquired, already anticipating his response.

A chuckle echoed through the line before he replied, "Yes, sir. Those who witnessed your stepfather's demise have met their fates, ensuring no loose ends remain. As you said, they killed each other due to money."

I nodded, satisfaction tingling through me as I reached for my cigar. The ritualistic act was a reminder of the power I held.

"Well done, Min Jae. Your dedication never goes unnoticed. I'll ensure you're duly compensated," I praised, acknowledging his unwavering loyalty.

"Thank you, sir. What's next on the plan?" Min Jae's voice held a note of anticipation, eager for the next challenge.

"Come to my office. We have matters to discuss," I commanded, already formulating my next move. "I need information on my new rival CEO. Specifically, I want the Jimin Park file. Let's see if he's as clean as he claims to be."

With a smirk, I ended the call, the thrill of the game coursing through my veins. In the world of business and underworld dealings, I was a master strategist, and with Min Jae by my side, there was no limit to what we could achieve.

As the unfamiliar number flashed on my iPhone screen, I hesitated for a moment before answering. The voice on the other end, recognizable as my guard's, cut through the silence with a tone tinged with apprehension. "Hello, Taehyung, sir. I hope I didn't disturb you."

I sighed impatiently, already anticipating the reason for his call. "What happened?" I asked, my voice laced with boredom.

His words rushed out in a torrent of anxiety. "Sir, I need to inform you that today, ma'am Lisa and Verna went shopping. However, during the trip, your mother, Ma'am Verna, instructed me to stop the car. When I suggested accompanying them, she refused and took Ma'am Lisa somewhere. Upon their return, I inquired about Lisa's whereabouts, only for Ma'am Verna to claim that she had run away and couldn't be found. She's frantic and urging everyone to search for her."
