Percy

The morning of Gryffindor's Quidditch tryouts brings dark clouds and cold winds. Penny's hair is whipping around her face as her and Percy walk down to the pitch. They're both bundled in Percy's sweaters and matching winter hats even though it's the middle of September.

Normally, students from other houses aren't invited to Quidditch tryouts but Oliver made an exception for Penny and even got Professor McGonagall's approval.

Oliver's already at the Quidditch pitch barking orders, his thick Glaswegian accent making it near impossible to understand a word he's saying.

"Ah, it's pure Baltic out 'ere," Oliver says as soon as Percy and Penny make their way to him. Typical Scotland weather.

Percy scans the students that have shown up. Fred, George, Angelina, and Harry are all huddled off to one side. Fred and George have their heads bent together like they do when they're planning a prank or conspiring to cause trouble. Based on the way Angelina is rolling her eyes, Percy assumes the former.

Angelina, it seems, is the only one who had the foresight enough to prepare for the weather. Her braids have been pulled back so they're not smacking her in the face every time the wind blows, and shes wearing a jacket over her Quidditch jersey as well as a hat and gloves.

The twins are practically pressed together in their effort to keep warm because unlike Angelina, they didn't dress for the weather. Their ears and cheeks are bright red and he can practically hear their teeth chattering even though he's quite a distance away. They have their Quidditch jerseys on and thats it. Knowing the twins wouldnt be prepared, Percy brought hats he snagged from their room and two of his sweaters.

Oliver wanted it kept secret that Harry was their new seeker so he isnt wearing his jersey like the other three. Harry has a sweater on that looks vaguely familiar but Percy cant place where he's seen in it before. The sweater looks like it's about to fall apart, patches barely holding it together. Theres a hole by the collar and one by his wrist that he keeps accidentally getting his thumb stuck in. His hands are red and he's got them pressed to his chest as he chats with Angelina. There's a hat pulled down over his ears that Percy amusedly realizes is Oliver's - which explains why said boy isn't wearing one.

Molly made Percy, Penny, and Oliver matching hats their first Christmas as friends - as is tradition for all her children's friends. Charlie's friend, Dora Tonks, has one that changes colors to mimic her being a Metamorphmagus. The twins friend, Lee, has a hat with a big pompom on top - something he specifically asked for when he found out she was making him one - that randomly shifts into little animal creatures.

Percy has a feeling that Harry might be getting one soon enough.

The group that showed up for the tryouts is a mix of different students year three and up. Percy hears Oliver reprimanding a group of sixth years for starting a game of exploding snap on the Quidditch Pitch and chuckles. Of course Oliver would be worried about the grass getting destroyed.

Penny marches along behind him as Percy makes his way to the twins, chattering about the students she recognizes and whether she thinks they'll make the team.

As soon as the twins spot the sweaters in Percy's arms, they bounce over in delight, hailing him a hero as they wrap their arms around their older brother and pretend he's saved them from frostbite. Their antics make Harry laugh so Percy doesn't say anything. They get distracted halfway through putting their hats on so Percy reaches over and tugs each one down over their ears. In turn, both twins lean over and smack a kiss to either side of Percy's face and laugh when he shoves them away with a half-hearted grumble.
