Percy
The Common Room is swamped with Gryffindors, all eager to find out the results of the Quidditch Tryouts. Kids are squished together in the arm chairs and spread throughout the room, taking up any available space they can.
Percy himself is tucked in the back corner of the common room, contrary to Oliver who is towards the front, by the fireplace. Oliver is balanced, quite precariously, on top of an endstand that sends Percy's heart into his throat everytime it wobbles. Oliver doesn't seen to mind, face split into a big grin as the twins and Angelina rile up the crowd.
"'Lo, everyone! Ah ken yer all 'ere fer the results o' the Qui'itch Tryouts. Let's get tae it, aye?" At Olivers words, the room erupted in cheers, only quieted by Percy's sharp whistle.
"Aye, thanks fer that, love," Oliver called across the room, grinning at Percy, who's face heated at the blatant acknowledgment. Everyone was used to the affection Oliver, Penny, and Percy showed each other so no one bat an eye.
Percy remembers hearing whispers once that the three of them were in a relationship, and even now everyone is still confused as to which of the three of them are actually together or whether any of them even are. Penny finds it endlessly amusing and does nothing to dissuade the rumors. (Percy's caught her spreading a few herself, though she denies it every time.)
The twins have taken it upon themselves to start a drumroll as Oliver begins announcing his new chasers.
"Alicia Bell an' Katie Spinnet!"
The Common Room erupts into cheers as the two girls scream in excitement. The twins have party hats from somewhere and are putting them on each girls head. Angelina is whistling and whooping as Oliver hands each girl their Quidditch jersey. He's smiling so wide that Percy can feel the corners of his own mouth attempt to do the same. The joy in the Common Room is infectious; Percy feels like he's overflowing with it.
"Aye, haud yer wheesht!" Oliver yells, attempting to silence the room. Percy huffs in amusement, and whistles again, once more silencing the room. This time, Oliver just smiles at him.
"A've git reserve players tae announce so settle doon."
Oliver pulls out a scroll of parchment and clears his throat.
Percy is unsurprised to learn that Cleo Grenich, Elias Grenich, and Amelia Enoch have been made reserve chasers.
Karisa Hawley and Benson Spier are made beaters.
"Fer reserve seeker, A've selected Michelle Devlin." The seventh year in question, a girl with long curly dark hair and rings on every finger, looks so startled to have been mentioned that it takes the jostling of her friend sat next to her for her to get up. Percy remembers seeing her at the Tryouts and privately thinking she'd have been a better seeker than a chaser. It seems he was right. She's quite fantastic on a broom.
"Surely she's too big to play Quidditch," Percy hears a boy off to his left murmur. Before he can do anything, Michelle's friend — a broad shouldered girl with poofy dark hair and piercings all over her ears — has her wand out and is jinxing him before he's finished his sentence.
Percy makes an aborted motion to get up as he sees the endstand wobble as Oliver spins towards the boy and snaps, "Ah dinnae tak' kindly tae that sort o' blether, Gilligan. Ah think it's best ye leave."
"But you're almost done!" Gilligan whines, standing up and huffing angrily.
"Ah dinnae care," Oliver says, raising an eyebrow as Gilligan stomps up the stairs towards the dorms. Gilligan's two friends glance at each other but ultimately decide not to follow their friend, instead turning back to Oliver.
