"I take Skykit as my Padawan learner," Hazelpaw muttered bitterly under his breath, storming deeper and deeper into the woods of Dawnclan.
Leaves flew everywhere, and small birds took off into the sky with alarmed squawks.
"You had no choice?"
A rock caught in one of his paws, and he fell unceremoniously on a pile of peat.
"Oof!"
Hissing, he shook out his rumpled fur, fury smothering his thoughts.
'I was always there for you, supported you even though I couldn't understand you sometimes,'
'Then you stumble along some Force-Sensitive kit, and you replace me without saying sorry?'
'Did I ever mean anything to you?'
"What. About. Me!" Hazelpaw yowled angrily, his voice echoing across the trees.
For a few moments, he stared at the endless green and blue, trying to calm his crazed mind.
Shame burned his pelt; as a Dawnclan knight, he wasn't supposed to let his feelings take control of him.
"You done?" a familiar mew made him flinch.
Lotuspaw was staring down at him from an oak tree with a disdainful look in her eyes.
Hazelpaw felt himself flush with embarrassment, flattening his ears he muttered an apology.
"Well, sorry ain't going to do, you blundering buffoon." Lotuspaw leaped to the ground gracefully, then cuffed him on the ear.
"Ow!"
"Jeez, I said I was sorry!" Hazelpaw backed away, hissing.
"You scared away my lunch, flattened all of my herbs, and destroyed my only supply of fluxweed." Lotuspaw snorted, then went on like a disgruntled sparrow, which Hazelpaw found annoying yet attractive at the same time.
"Which Elderflower desperately needs because she told me this morning that her joints hurt."
"And now, Seersight's gonna put me on tick duty because I don't want to tattle on you!"
"Stoooppp." Hazelpaw sank to the ground, paws on his ears.
"I get it, I get the point!"
"All right, what's wrong?" Lotuspaw's disgruntled expression melted away to a gentle coaxing mood.
"Nothing." Hazelpaw looked away.
"Don't treat me like I'm stupid, Hazelnut." Lotuspaw curled her glossy tail around her dainty paws.
"You know that healers could sense feelings more accurately than normal Dawnclan cats."
Hazelpaw's only response was a worn-out sigh.
"Come on." Lotuspaw grabbed his tail with her jaws and began dragging him across the floor.
Hazelpaw thrashed wildly, trying to get away; it wasn't easy because the she-cat was two times his size.
"You are not going anywhere until you've sorted out your feelings." Lotuspaw insisted through a mouthful of fur.
"...And then he just cast me aside for some kit!" Hazelpaw finished speaking. When he was done, he was still fuming.
"Uh-huh." Lotuspaw groomed the fur around her throat.
"Daddy issues."
"He isn't my-" Hazelpaw began furiously, then stopped himself.
