29th of December, 2021Dear Hazel,
Spending all this time apart from you has made me do things I never thought I'd do. That ranged from going through our old pictures, old texts, old shared playlists.
I found myself wondering where our story started. And if I couldn't relive it in this reality, the least I could do is relive it in the comfort of my mind.
I wonder if you remember the first time we ever met. No matter what I do, I don't think I could ever forget it. The memory being etched into my brain.
It's almost like it happened yesterday.
an angered lewis ripped his helmet off, throwing it to the side.
it was the championship decider in the european karting championship. he was tied neck to neck with his rival, and best friend; nico rosberg.
but an idiotic driver who was always at the back of the grid crashed into him during his qualifying session.
lewis knew his father didn't have the funds for the repairs of the kart, seeing how damaged it was.
his chances of even competing in tomorrow's race were very low. and that was enough to send him spiraling into a frenzy of fury.
"i don't know what the hell he was thinking! couldn't he see me?!" lewis exclaimed, complaining to nico.
they both shared their hatred towards the guy, analyzing every bit of him and what he stood for whilst lewis' father looked for a way to fix his kart.
by the time nico left, lewis was set on a search to find where his dad was.
it was fairly easy to spot considering how small the track was.
his ears perked up at the sound of a girl's laughter near his father, mirroring a dog's reaction.
"hey pops, how's the kart looking?" lewis patted his father's back, joining his conversation with a young girl- who looked to be around his age- and the man who seemed to be her dad.
"it's almost as good as new!" he told him, "son, this is ethan foster; the owner of this track. and his daughter; hazel foster."
lewis politely shook hands with them, his heartbeat skyrocketing once his hand made contact with hazel's smooth skin.
she wore an angelic smile, showcasing her white teeth and prominent dimples.
the two teenagers exchanged shy glances, their flushed faces turning them into bright red tomatoes.
their fathers were oblivious to their antics, too busy chatting about the kart and lewis' eye-turning talent.
"did you help fix it?" lewis pointed at the part that was once damaged, looking better than it did before now.
hazel nodded, playing with a few strings of her light brown hair.
"it was a pretty easy fix. although that guy that crashed into you is a huge dickhead." she shared her thoughts.
lewis laughed at her honesty, "i know right! next time i see him i'm ramming him off the track, i don't care if i get a penalty."
"well, you wouldn't have to see him again since you'd be world champion and he wouldn't." she cheekily responded, and if she hadn't already made lewis' heart flutter, hearing her say that definitely did.
"you really think i could be world champion?" he curiously asked her.
"i don't think, i know." she smiled.
