2nd of June, 2022Dear Hazel,
It's going to be our 13th anniversary since our wedding day in a few days.
Anniversaries are usually something to celebrate, but now it's something I dreaded waiting for.
Who would've known a day we were so happy, so young, so in love during would be a day that's full of sorrows, regrets, and sadness a few years later?
after nearly 5 months of wedding planning, it was finally the day.
just like how hazel wanted, they were in italy, at a venue right beside the beach.
both of them were incredibly nervous, feeling as though their hearts might burst from their chests. despite dreaming about this day since they first met, now that it was finally here, they found themselves battling with pre-wedding jitters.
"what if she decides to bail on me last second? like what happens in movies." lewis loosened his tie as his airways began closing in on him.
nico laughed at the distressed look on his best friend's face. "there's a reason it only happens in movies. get those thoughts out of your head, man. you guys didn't love each for 6 years for you to be saying this now."
to lewis, nico's voice seemed to be miles away, his thoughts and doubts a million times louder.
the pair had intentionally avoided seeing each other the entire day, sticking by the superstition that it's bad luck to do so before the wedding ceremony.
"you know what? i'll go check up on her to see how she's doing. she's probably just as nervous as you are."
nico left lewis as he made his way through the halls of the building overlooking the beach. from the window, the beautiful wedding venue was on display.
he knocked on the door of the bride's room, a loud 'come in' echoing from the inside.
upon entering, the entire room was a mess, with clothes thrown everywhere, makeup and skincare products scattered about, and empty plates of leftover food littering the bed and tables.
"oh my god, nico! is the wedding cancelled?!" hazel's heart dropped when she saw nico, instantly assuming lewis sent him over here to tell her he's backing out.
her cousin, who was busy styling her hair, nudged her arm as if to tell her she was crazy for even thinking of that.
"what? no!" nico laughed, "you two are so scared that the other is going to bail but you don't realize how infatuated you are."
he took a closer look at hazel. she was already in her wedding dress, which was simple but stunning.
the dress was a stunning white, featuring a corseted top and a sweetheart neckline. it was adorned with delicate 3D leaf and floral motifs adding an elegant touch. to finish the look she wore transparent white gloves with a floral print that matched the dress perfectly.
opting for a more natural makeup look, she looked flawless. her pink blush highlighted her cheekbones, subtle touches of white highlighter illuminated the corners of her eyes. soft, sparkly grey eyeshadow graced her eyelids, complemented by a faintly winged eyeliner to complete the look.
"wow... you look.." nico trailed on as he took in the sight of the girl, it was enough to steal his breath away.
"bad?" she worriedly asked.
"no, stunning." he told her, "lewis is going to faint when he sees you."
she laughed, "i don't know. i'm so scared."
