"Okay Remus. It's late and you need to come in and take a shower!"
"Just a sec, Mum!" He shouted back.
"Hmm. Where is it?" He muttered to himself. It couldn't have gone far. Remus had been throwing a ball at a small hole in a tree. He had thrown right before his Mom called him in and he didn't see where the ball went. He stood up of the ground and took a few seconds to wipe of the dirt on his knees. He felt the long grass itch at his bare ankles and he felt the wind blowing from the north. Remus for a second imagined himself with long hair and the hair going wild in the wind. He chuckled as he started towards the tree. He was staring at the ground seeing if the ball could have bounce off the tree. He was so focused in staring at the ground that he walked straight in to the tree!
"Ow!" He exclaimed more out of surprise than pain. He rubbed his hands through his hair and felt it stick right to his hand. He had gotten sap all over his hair! Oh lord. Mum would have a fit! He tried his best to get the bark out of his without tearing out hair with it.
"Ugh. Stupid tree!"
Remus stuck his hand in the tree hole.
"Come on. Where is it!" Yelled an irritated Remus.
Then he felt something furry in his hands. He wheeled his hand back and let go. A chipmunk went soaring across the lawn and didn't take any time after landing to scurry in to the woods.
Remus was panting heavily. He felt the cold air ice his lungs.
"Remus! Are you okay?" His mother said in a very worried tone as she stood on the patio.
"Yeah! I'm aight." He immediately regretted saying this as a look of disgust went across her face.
" Remus proper gram-"
" I know, I know."
" Well come in as soon as you find the ball. It's getting late and the moon is already out."
It was true. The bright white full moon was already lighting up the night sky. If Remus hadn't been scolded by his mom a few seconds ago he would've found it a beautiful sight. That and he couldn't help but feeling like he was being watched.
Remus( not wanting another chipmunk encounter) went over to the long grassland that starts just a few feet pass the tree. He bent down on all fours and rubbed his hand blindly across the cool moist dirt. The long grass was blocking out the moonlight so the dirt was just black ground. He would never be able to make out the ball in this! Remus plopped down in defeat. He really didn't want to go inside. He liked the feeling. The wind blowing in his face. The long grass tickling his hands and ankles. Remus could here the crickets near the pond. Remus estimated the pond was about 50 yards away, but then again he couldn't see a thing at this time of night. He could also hear movement in the grass.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" Remus asked timidly.
"I would run if I were you," said a gruff unknown voice. Instead of running, Remus, being curious inched toward where the voice came from.
"Who, who are you?" Asked Remus.
"Your worst nightmare." The voice spoke back.
At this Remus stumbled backwards and tripped over a root sticking out. He fell down and dirt got all over his back. Remus by wasting any time was about to turn on his heel to stand up when he was blinded by the light of the full moon shining down on him as it now was fully visible. Then Remus saw something that he would remember forever.
A man stood up in the grass. Then he went rigid like he was having a fit. The man seemed to grow about a foot and a half in a few seconds. Then his face seemed to extend just like his legs did and it took shape of a nose that you would see on a dog. Then he hunched over and his spine stuck out pointedly. The man (not anymore) whined and was standing right over his shredded clothes. He turned and looked at Remus. Remus was paralyzed by fear. The dark slits that were his pupils seemed to look right through Remus. The creature started towards Remus. At this sudden motion Remus turned and ran. He didn't dare look back. He didn't have to. He could here the beast on all fours right behind. Then he felt a big hairy body on top of him. Remus's screams were muffled by a bite to the shoulder.IM CURRENTLY EDITING THIS OVER
