26. Ciel's Birthday

A few months passed and December arrived. December 14, 1888 to be exact. Ciel's birthday. Today he turns 13.

Sneaking into his room, you quietly stepped in and carefully sat on the edge of his bed. You held a food tray and placed it on his nightstand.

"Happy Birthday, Ciel!" You said.

When you noticed him waking up, you began to sing what Sebastian usually sings to people on their birthdays.

"It's your birthday, my dear. Older by one more year. This special day you turn 13. May you live on your dreams~"

Ciel stood up and sleepily rubbed his eyes. "Thank you, (Y/N)." His right eye had no eyepatch, so both eyes were exposed. He had a cute bed head.

You hugged him. "Your welcome." You grabbed the tray of food from the nightstand and placed it on his lap.

"You made this?" He asked.

"Yes! Now, eat up!"

You went out to town walking, wearing a jacket to keep you warm, with Laura to find Ciel a birthday gift.

"What about this?" Laura asked as she held up a super ruffled shirt.

You made a face at her.

"Just kidding! I agree that it's ugly." She said.

You kept looking around the store. Nothing really caught your eye. You wanted his gift to have meaning. A familiar blonde girl with pigtails was in the store to.

"What are you doing here?" Lady Elizabeth asked.

"I'm getting Ciel a present for his birthday. Why does it matter to you?" You said.

"I'm getting Ciel a present, too." She said without eye contact, looking around the little shop. "I bet he'll like my gift better and it matters to me because he's my fiancée."

"Was your fiancée." You corrected.

"Well, yeah, but... I don't get why your talking because I don't think he's asked you yet?" She said.

You started to get angry. "Look, Blondie. I don't want to fight you because your Ciel's cousin, but if you make me mad, I will fight you and I don't care if your his cousin or anything."

"Really?" She said in a sly tone. She started to walk towards you, hands tight in fists.

"Really." You started walking towards her as well.

"Ladies! Ladies! Don't bicker today or in the store. Get along with each other instead." Laura said stepping in between.

Lady Elizabeth backed away mad. "Idiots." She murmured.

Laura whipped her head around. She glared daggers at Elizabeth. "Listen here, I tired to be nice and spare you, but next time you come in between anyone I know, I will hunt you down. Got it?"

She nodded and left the shop.

"Come on, Laura. We should leave to another shop, too." You said.

You looked at the wrapped gift. The wrapping paper was a dark blue with areas of even darker blue. The size of the square box was about the size of your hands. You felt good but about what you picked out.

"Do you think he'll like it?" Laura asked.

"I hope so." You said.

You entered the home with Laura following behind. You quickly ran up to your room and hid the little gift under your pillow.

At night, everyone sat in the living room. They all were talking and having a good time and eating Ciel's favorite cake: Gateau Chocolat.

"Wait here." You said to Ciel. "I have a gift for you."

"Alright." He said.

You went up the stairs get his gift. You lifted your pillow to get it and went back downstairs.

"Here, open it. I hope you like it." You said as you handed him the small little box.

Ciel grabbed it. He tears of the wrapping paper and finds a black box inside. He opens the box and sees a necklace. The necklace was silver and had a small, silver, heart locket on the chain.

"(Y/N)." He looks at his gift. He takes the necklace in his hands and finds out it could open. Ciel opens the heart and sees a picture of two people together: you and Ciel. "I love it. Thank you."

You smiled. "Look at the back."

He closed the heart and turned it over on the backside. A description was on the back saying:

Your not alone. I will always be with you, forever. I love you.
~ (Y/N)

Ciel smiled at the words. "How did you come up with this?"

"Laura helped me out." You said.

Laura winked at you.

"We'll thank you both for this wonderful gift." Ciel said with his smile still on his face.
