Elizabeth sat quietly in her room, looking out her window into the snow filled garden. Ever since the day Alois took you away she felt uneasy.

'I should be happy she's gone... but... I feel... bad.'

She sighed out hard and made her window foggy and drew 'C + L' on the window. She quickly wiped it away after having an uneasy feeling in her stomach. It all felt wrong. Deep down, she did feel bad about everything she's done to you. She finally understood.

A knock was heard from her door. "Hey, Lizzy. Come down to eat or else your dinner will get cold. It's Christmas and we should all be together for the holiday at least."

Elizabeth stayed quiet for a few seconds before answering. "I'll be down soon Edward." She waited to get up until his footsteps faded away into the hallway.

She went to her mirror and grabbed her hairbrush. She brushed her golden hair into her signature pigtail drills, except they were tied low instead of high. She only looked in her mirror to check if they seemed even because she couldn't stand looking at her self anymore. After a while, she finally went down to join her family.

Everyone was waiting for her at the table: her mother, her father, and her brother. They all wore elegant attire as they sat around the table. Elizabeth only wore a simple brown dress compared to everyone else.

"Lizzy! You made it!" Edward said as he lifted his water cup and took a drink from it. He patted to the seat next to him as a gesture for Elizabeth to sit down.

She slowly sat down and stayed quiet. Her head hung low, staring into the pale white table cloth.

"Merry Christmas. Are you not even going to say that to your family and talk to us?" Elizabeth's mother, Francis, said. Her stern face kept staring at Elizabeth.

"Oh, yes. Merry Christmas everyone." Elizabeth said without emotion.

Edward crossed his arms. "See! You're still sad over Phantomhive! Ooh just wait until I see him again I'll make him sorry he ever left you. I'll—"

"No, Edward." She cut off her brother.

He gave a surprised look to his sister. "What? You can't be serious. Every other time I said that you would agree and encourage me!"

She picked up her spoon and fiddled with it in her hand. "I just... don't care about what happened anymore. If Ciel is happy with (Y/N) then we should let it be. That's what matters, doesn't it? I'm over what happened and I'm not sad about it."

Everyone at the table was surprised. They stayed quiet at the different response coming from Elizabeth.

"Elizabeth...." Alexis, her father, said.

"I'm serious. I... had an epiphany, you can say."

Edward held his sister's hand. She put the spoon down and held it. "I'm happy for you, Lizzy. Honestly." He gave her a smile and Elizabeth returned the smile back. It felt good to smile for once.

"Well I guess we can say we are all happy for you, daughter. Let us celebrate more on this holiday season. Paula! Bring in more wine!" Alexis said as he raised his cup.

Paula, the maid, came running in and brought two more bottles of wine. She set them down next to Elizbeth's father and served it to the adults besides Elizabeth, for she didn't like to drink.

The whole night was magical. Elizabeth finally felt happy not only for herself, but for Ciel and everyone in their lives. The words you told her the day you both fought sunk in after the weeks went by. The Midford household was a bright and happy place again with, this time, everyone being genuinely smiling.

"Let's exchange our gifts now!" Edward said, acting like a child again.

Elizabeth ran after him and plopped herself right next to him. The fireplace crackled with soft flames providing the room with warmth as the rest of the family joined them.

Just as Edward was about to start opening his gift from his father, someone knocked on the front door loudly. "Who could that be at this hour?" He went to the door and a man in a cloak stood outside. "What do you want."

The cloaked man pushed up his glasses and gave Edward an envelope. "This is for miss Elizabeth."

Edward grabbed the envelope and examined it. "Sure. But who are—" When he looked up the cloaked man disappeared. "Okay..." He walked back to Elizabeth and gave her the letter.

"Who gave this to you?" She asked.

He shrugged. "Don't know. Some weirdo in a cloak wanted me to give it to you."

Elizabeth softly gasped and tucked the letter into her dress. "Sorry, I have to use the bathroom." She shuffled her way to the nearest bathroom in the house and locked herself in. She had an idea who the letter could be from, but she still had to read it to find out.

Dear Elizabeth,

It's finally time for your plan to play out. My part of the plan is failing, so it seems like we will have to go through with your end of the plan and kill off (Y/N). Once of my maids is making her remember her past and has been visiting Phantomhive without me knowing.
The ritual will take place tomorrow at eleven o'clock. I promise you, you would not want to miss the opportunity to watch the person you hate the most die right in front of you. After all these years of you wanting Ciel back, you can finally reunite after she's out of the way!

Best wishes,
Alois Trancy

Elizabeth shoved the letter back into the envelope and ran out of the bathroom. She excused herself from her family saying she was 'too tired' and wanted to go to sleep. Once in her room, she lay in her bed and stared at the ceiling debating on what to do.

'What have I done.... I don't want this outcome anymore...' She rolled over and sat up straight. 'I have to tell Ciel.' She stood up and prepared her coat to sneak out at night. She couldn't tell anyone to take her because then they would have to question her and they would know everything. She couldn't bring herself to tell her family what she has been up to, more her old intentions of wanting (Y/N) dead.

She waited impatiently for everyone in her family to go to bed. It was almost 2 am when everyone finally went to their rooms to sleep. She grabbed her rope from her closet and tied it down to one of the legs of her bed and went down into the cold. She ran as fast as she could to Ciel's place in the dead of night.

Ciel was fast asleep in his bed when he suddenly woke up to the sound of the front door being hit loudly. "Who the hell can it be at this hour."

Sebastian went to open the door and was surprised to see Elizabeth. "Lady Elizabeth?"

"Yes, i-i-its m-me." She said out of breath.

"What brings you here so early in the morning?" He asked.

Elizabeth took out the letter from one of her coat pockets. "We have to talk to Ciel. And quick— it's about (Y/N)"
