42. Snakes

Undertaker jumped off the wall with the dead Vice Principal. You climbed up the wall and looked down. He wasn't there.

The Prefects and their fags got out of hiding. They looked at the mess that was left.

"Ciel... What's going on?" Edward asked.

Ciel put away his gun. "It's nothing. We should get going."  He signaled you to also put away your gun.

"This was something, Phantomhive. Who exactly are you?" Violet said.

"I am Ciel Phantomhive. The Queens Guard Dog." He said.

The Prefects stepped back.

"You never told us, Edward?" Bluewer asked.

Edward shot his hands up in protest. "I didn't want to interfere in what we he was doing. Even though I didn't know why he was here in the first place."

You, Ciel, and Sebastian began to walk out.

"Wait!" Greenhill yelled.

Ciel ignored him and everyone else that was calling. You and Ciel were happy you were leaving.

Ciel looked at you. "We are never coming back."

Everyone came back at around five in the morning. Being tired, you were silent the whole time but happy you finally out of that school. So was Ciel.

"Undertaker said something like a riddle. Could that be a hint?" You asked.

Ciel sat down on his chair in his office. "It could be. It gives us a lot of information on the place itself, but the exact time and date of the person arriving is not mentioned."

"That is a problem." You said as you flicked a piece of hair back.

Someone knocked on the door. It opened quietly and slowly with Sebastian coming in. "A letter has arrived, my lord. It seems important." He set the letter down next to Ciel.

Ciel grabbed the letter and examined it. On the front, it had black ink spilled all over it. He opened it. Inside, all it said was:

Tonight. Don't try to slither away!

"I see. (Y/N), are you willing to cross dress again?" Ciel said.

You narrowed your eyes at him. "Only if you do it, too."

"Just as I get these bandages off, they come right back." You said annoyed. You had in Ciel's clothes along with his eyepatch.

Ciel walked next to you. He wore a pink and white dress with a matching hat and hair extensions tied into pigtails. "At least you dont have to wear a corset again."

"You look beautiful Ciel-I mean Mistress Ciela!" You laughed at his appearance but then you remembered his last sentence. "Wait, again?"

Sebastian appeared next to Ciel with Laura. He put his index finger on his lips. "That is a story for another time, (Y/N)."

"I have to agree with (Y/N) that Ciel looks pretty." Laura said laughing.

You and the others were standing in front of a huge library. It seemed old, but in good condition. What was the point, though?

"Now what?" You said.

It was about 11:30 at night. The streets were empty with no one in sight. Everything was calm.

"We need to get behind the library. That's were we will find our person." Ciel said.

Behind the library is an alley. It was way darker behind here than it was on the streets. Not even the moon was visible. Trash and gravel was everywhere with a deadly silence.

"(Y/N), go stand over there. Whatever you do, don't run or show fear. I promise nothing will happen to you." Ciel held your hand tightly and let go. "We will still watch over you while we are hiding."

You walked deeper into the alley. A little scared, you slowed down your pace and stopped right in the middle of a building and a dumpster. You whipped your head around when you heard something come from the dumpster.

Suddenly, the top of the dumpster flew open with a snake coming out from it. The snake hissed at you and more snakes poured out.

"Now!" You heard.

Then, Sebastian and Laura grabbed all the snakes into a bag. Laura held the bag shut while Sebastian went into the dumpster with rope. When he came out, he pulled out a person along with him.

"Are you alright, (Y/N)?" Nothing but you?" Ciel asked.

You shook your head. "Yes, I'm fine." You looked over to the person tied up on the ground. "But who is that?"

The person was a male and had grey hair. He had green, catlike eyes and scales on his cheeks. He also had one snake curled around his neck. "'Let me go! And why are you in a dress?' Says Wilde."

"This is Snake." Ciel said.

"How do know this person?" You asked.

Ciel took off his hat. "Months before I met you, the Queen told me to investigate the Noah's Ark Circus. They were all guilty of capturing children and almost killing me in my childhood. The circus crew came to my home while I was with their leader and the servants killed them. Snake was not there while they died. He has planned his revenge for me ever since and it is my guess that is why he hunted down the Book of Murder and Torture to use it on me."

You were speechless.

"'It would have worked, too, if you didn't catch me and switched scents with that girl. I would have tortured you until your last breath, Smile.' Says Wilde." Snake said.

Sebastian tied the rope tighter. "Where is the book, Mr. Snake?"

Snake looked down. "'It was in the basement of this library. I thought other nobles had it, but they didn't.' Says Wilde."

Ciel got closer to Snake. He got behind him and began to undo the rope. "Instead of killing me, join us."

Snake's eyes widened. "'What are talking about, Smile?' Says Wilde."

"Join me in the Phantomhive staff. You won't have to live on the streets anymore and have a family." Ciel said extending his arm to Snake

Snake was silent. He thought about it for a minute and finally said, "'Yes, Smile.' Says Wilde." He shook Ciel's hand.

Ciel shook back. "Welcome. And stop calling me Smile, it's Ciel. We are not in the circus anymore."

Sebastian let the snakes from the bag go to Snake. "Shall we retrieve the book and get it to the Queen, my lord?"

"Yes. Let's go." Ciel said. He started to walk but he remembered he was still in a dress. "(Y/N), let's change clothes, first."
