"You disgust me," I mutter, throwing the man to the side. "You realize how weak you are compared to a powerless?"

"I am not weak to you. I would never be weak to someone with a useless ability," he chuckles with his teeth full of blood, and it makes me disgusted even more at the sight of him.

"You are not as powerful as you strive yourself to be. Inflicting pain on others isn't power, it's only your own insecurity wanting to be seen," I tug his hair back, making him listen to my words. "I hate killing people, but I don't mind doing it to rapists and child predators like you."

I take out my gun from my pocket and shoot the man in the head.

I kick him aside and shove my gun back in my pocket. The feeling of wind rushes across my face, making a light smile tug at my lips that distracts me from the ache I feel in my gut.

I walk across the rooftop and climb up on the very edge. I look down beneath me at the busy streets.

And I jump.

The wind feels surreal as I fall down lower and lower, the feeling of freedom nearly knocking my breath away.

The feeling of tugging and pushing replaces the freedom. I feel like I'm moving in slow-motion as Aiden uses his gravity ability to gently land me on the ground.

"Killed him?" Carter questions, searching my face for any injuries.

"Yes," I nod once, looking over at Cash who has a wide, creepy smile on his face. "What?" I ask.

"Nothing, flower," he shrugs.

I roll my eyes and smile.

"Who's next, boss?" Aiden asks, looking up at Carter.

"Damon Smith. He's in building 28," he gestures his head to the right. "Cash, Aiden, you two go after him. Let me stay behind with Violet."

They instantly start running, and Carter turns towards me with a smile on his face once they're both gone. "You've done amazing these past days, Violet."

"Thank you," I smile.

His smile fades a little. "You've been getting extra close with Noah. I haven't seen you two apart since today once I asked," he chuckles, looking down at the ground. "Listen, Violet. I like Noah. He's a good kid, but I want you to back off of him a little bit."

"What?" I question, confused.

"It's just- this is how a relationship goes, darling," he pulls me close by the waist. "When you're in a committed relationship, you need to focus on one man only. No distractions, right?"
