Violet
~ ~ ~"Thank you," I smile at the barista, taking the plastic cup holder that carries three cups of coffee.
She nods, smiling back as I walk out of the coffee shop.
I'm going to need at least one cup of coffee after this.
I head deeper into the city, turning corners and streets until about twenty minutes pass by. I eventually make it onto the street I'm looking for, and I see the man I want.
I place the coffee down on the empty bench that seems almost deserted.
"Go," Reed snaps at Lucas, gesturing for him to go the left of the street. Lucas obeys, walking away from him.
I take out my dagger from my thigh strap.
I slowly start approaching Reed, my heart pounding out my chest as the adrenaline starts kicking in. I try to control my breathing, to control my nerves.
As I walk towards him, my footsteps make absolutely no sound. My grip on my dagger tightens when I stand right behind his back.
I force upon my movements. I grab his neck, and I hold my dagger out in front to slit it.
He slips away from my grip in under a second, and he widens his eyes once he realizes that it's me. "Violet?" He mumbles softly, looking at my dagger.
I groan in frustration, needing to finish this mission. I swing my dagger at him, in which he dodges from my attempt. I try use our height differences to my advantage and slip past him, but he's faster.
He doesn't attempt to hurt me. To fight back, or even defend himself. He just avoids my swings with my dagger, his expression confused the entire time.
I narrow my eyes at him after about a long five minutes of doing this. I sigh, trying to catch my breath.
Then I throw my dagger to the street, deciding to do this with my bare hands.
"Violet, plea-"
I interrupt his words when I grab him by the neckline of the shirt, shoving him against the building next to us. I place my other hand on his chest, looking up as he still towers over me.
He sucks in a breath, realizing the position we're in. I can feel his heartbeat stammer like crazy against his chest, his pupils dilating.
I can't help but feel my stomach flutter at the effect I have on him. I keep my hand on his chest, removing the one on his neckline to place it on my gun. "Not going to lie to me with your words this time?" I whisper.
