Bucky's POV:
The sound of marching strides echo all around me as two soldiers flank my sides, leading me into the dimly-lit base. I'm forced to a stop as a looming shadow stalks closer. The soldiers' heads bow in honour and respect. Approaching into the dusken sunlight, illuminating his crimson scull, Schmidt states, "Arrogance may not be a uniquely American trait, but I must say you do it better than anyone."

My chin lifts up slightly to fully meet his gaze. Forcing a whimper down my throat as one of the soldiers tightens his grip on my arm. My thoughts start racing as he approaches. "But there are limits to what even you can do, Sargent." He explains. My eyes lock onto him, a stern expression fixes to my face. 'Oh, if looks could kill.' I think to myself, anger boils up inside me. Wanting to take this tyrant down once and for all.

Schmidt tilts his head slightly and smiles slyly, "How have the adjustments been keeping you, Sargent Barnes?" I squint my eyes at him "Who's asking? The person who kidnapped me or the person who got Captain America killed?" I ask, tilting my head in the same direction as his.

"Ah. I did not intend for the Captain to die in such a painful way for you. I merely wanted for you to be the best that you could be, and more. And look at where that's brought you. The thing is, Captain America was given everything that was rightfully mine." Schmidt states, his voice dying down to a whisper, "So, what made him so special?"

I chuckle dryly at this, "Nothing. He was just a kid from Brooklyn." This clearly angers Schmidt. He swings his arm round, fist colliding with my jaw. The pain still bites away at my jawline as he strikes me again and sucker punches me in the abdomen. Blood forces its way out of my throat as I kneel on the floor in pain. My head tilts up to see the predator, I state, "I can do this all day."

Schmidt shakes his head in disappointment, "Oh, of course you can. Of course.
Unfortunately, I'm on a tight schedule." He states, drawing a silver gun out of his gun holster, aiming directly at my head!

The sound of metal hitting rock chimes throughout the base, catching Schmidt off guard. We both shoot our heads toward the window to find my squadron zip lining down towards the glass. I glare back at Schmidt, "So am I." I state, swinging one of the soldiers round in front of me. Schmidt whips round and tries to fire his gun at me, but he ends up obliterating the soldier that I had put in between us.

Glass shatters as my squadron vault into the settlement, the rapid fire of bullets sprints across the many HYDRA soldiers that surround the area.

As Schmidt dashes out to escape, I fling the other soldier off of my arm. Jacques Dernier sprints towards Steve's shield, picking it up hurriedly. "Barnes! You might need this!" He exclaims, lobbing the shield in my direction. "Thanks!" I state, catching the shield and hooking it onto my right arm. I run after Schmidt.
