"The Tessereact has awakened." The 'Other' states to his leader "It is on a little world, a human world. They would wield its power, but our ally knows its workings as they never will." Amongst the fields and galaxies of space, a brother, once thought dead by the famous God of Thunder, is awarded a mission to complete. "He is ready to lead and our force, our Chitauri, will follow." The Chitauri all line up, ready for battle. The 'Other' continues, "A world will be his. The universe, yours. And the humans, what can they do but burn?"

A helicopter flies over the darkening night sky, a large building quickly coming into view. "All personnel, the evacuation order has been confirmed." An agent on PA states, giving out instructions to the scattered crowd below. Multiple soldiers lead S.H.I.E.L.D agents out of the building, uttering overlapping chatter that floods the grounds.

A helicopter gracefully lands on one of the landing pads, Agent Coulson stands awaiting the exit of the passengers inside. Maria Hill steps out, followed by Nick Fury, and walks over to Agent Coulson. "How bad is it?" Nick asks, shouting over the whirr of helicopter blades. "That's the problem, sir. We don't know." Agent Coulson replies.

An elevator zips down the elevator shaft, it rattles against the large cables as it goes past each floor. Agent Coulson leads the way through an underground hallway, Nick and Maria follow behind him. "Dr. Selvig read an energy surge from the Tesseract four hours ago." Coulson explains.
"NASA didn't authorise Selvig to go to test phase." Nick states.
"He wasn't testing it. He wasn't even in the room. Spontaneous event."
"It just turned itself on?" Maria asks.

The trio continue down the hallway, agents and scientists hurriedly jog past them, trying to evacuate to their next destination as quickly as possible. "Where are the energy levels now?" Nick Fury asks. "Climbing. When Selvig couldn't shut it down, we ordered evac."
"How long to get everyone out?" Nick questions. Maria Hill listens in on their conversation, obtaining as much information as she can. "Campus should be clear in the next half-hour." Coulson states.
"Do better." Nick orders.

Agent Coulson leaves the two to continue down the hallway, walking off to complete the director's orders.

Maria Hill and Nick Fury hurry down multiple flights of stairs, the clanging of their footsteps on the metal steps echo throughout the large, dimly lit chamber. "Sir, evacuation may be futile." Maria states. "We should tell them to go back to sleep?" Nick asks, raising a brow. "If we can't control the Tesseract's energy, there may not be a minimum safe distance." She replies. "I need you to make sure the Phase 2 prototypes are shipped out." Nick states.
"Is that really a priority right now?" Agent Hill asks.

"Until such time as the wold ends, we will act as though it intends to spin on." Nick states, turning round to face her. A moment of silence settles on the two. "Clear out the tech below. Every piece of Phase 2 on a truck and gone." Nick orders. Maria Hill begins to walk away, "Yes sir." She states, ordering the two agents she walks past.

Nick Fury enters the tech chamber, the open, dome like ceiling makes the room feel ten times larger than what it actually is. All sorts of machinery and wires litter the area with the Tesseract holder front and centre. Dr. Selvig glances over at the Tesseract, going over everything that's happening in his head. "Talk to me, Doctor." Nick states, striding forwards with authority. "Director." Dr. Selvig greets.

"Is there anything we know for certain?" Nick asks as Dr. Selvig walks over to him. "The Tesseract is misbehaving." Selvig states. One of the many scientists in the room jabs at the Tesseract with a small metal rod, reeling back after the intergalactic cube zaps it with some kind of blue energy. "Is that supposed to be funny?" The director asks. "No, it's not funny at all. The Tesseract is not only active, she's behaving." Dr. Selvig explains. "I assume you pulled the plug." Nick says.
"She's an energy source. We turn off the power, she turns it back on. If she reaches peak level..." Selvig explains, having Nick cut him off. "We prepared for this, Doctor. Harnessing energy from space." Nick states.
