A large pair of metal claws swim below the ocean. They whirr in curiosity when they come across the Tesseract wedged in the ocean floor. "Sir?" one of the scientists call out to Howard Stark, gaining his attention. He strides over to the scientist to see what he was calling him over for. He looks down at the Tesseract in the ship's monitor screen in curiosity. "Take us to the next grid point." Howard commands to the captain. "But there's no case of wreckage. And the energy signature stops here." the scientist states. "Just keep looking." Howard Stark states.

Colonel Phillips strides towards Peggy who's busy going through files and documents. He carries a file with him and places it on the desk in front of her without a word. Peggy picks up the file as the Colonel walks away, reading lettering on the font: Captain America. As she opes the file, she finds multiple documents all piled on top of each other. Her breath hitches as she carefully takes out an image of pre-serum Steve.

Children run across the street, laughing and cheering with a painted dustbin lid designed to look like Captain America's shield. A pair of adults dodge out of their way as they rampage and pretend to be their favorite hero.

Bucky's POV:
The sound of muttering over the radio fills my ears as my eyes slowly begin to open. My brows furrow in confusion as I recognise the commentary of the game. I'm laying down on my back in what seemed to be a hospital bed. White and sage green walls surround me with two open windows, one behind me and one to my right. A ceiling fan dangles down and slowly spins in circles, almost sending me dizzy. A side table with a lamp, newspaper, and glass of water await for me at my side. I slowly sit up, still highly confused. The last thing I remember was the plane diving into the water along with me in it. Am I dead, or is this some sort of crazy illusion? The sound of cars outside snap me out of my thoughts. I look over to the dresser where the radio sits and listen to the game. 'This is weird.' I think to myself.

The door opens and a woman entered from behind. "Good morning." she says, her voice is soft and gentle, almost as if it could wrap you up for the winter. "Or should I say afternoon?" she continues after looking down at her watch. My body is tense, still a little uncomfortable and highly confused as to what is happening. "Where am I?" I ask, my voice dry and probably seeming a bit intimidating. "You're in a recovery room in New York City." the woman states. 'Quick to answer?' I think to myself. I listen to the game a bit more, not falling for her facade one bit. "Where am I really?" I ask. "I'm afraid I don't understand." the woman chuckles drily. "The game. It's from May 1941. I know, 'cause I was there. I went with Ste- with Captain Rogers." I state, rising to my feet and walking over to her. Her face darkens, loosing the once trustworthy look that she had in a matter of seconds. "Now, I'm going to ask you again. Where am I?" I ask, making my tone sterner the closer I come to her.

"Sergeant Barnes." she states, gripping onto some sort of small device in her hand. "Who are you?" I ask. the door opens as two soldiers in fully black suits and caps enter the room. I begin to panic, instantly knowing that somethings aren't adding up. I throw the soldiers through the wall only to find a completely metal room. "Sergeant Barnes, wait!" the woman states as I sprint towards the exit, not looking back.

I burst through the doors and end up entering some sort of modern hallway. The woman's voice echoes throughout it as multiple people look in my direction and start chasing after me. I shove a couple out of the way as I make my way down towards what I guess is the main entrance. Whatever crazy charade this is I don't want to be apart of it. Multiple people stop in their tracks at the sight of me. Tall buildings tower over me as crazy looking cars chased me down the road. I stop in my tracks as multiple vehicles surround me. Flashy signs with thousands of images flash before my eyes. "At ease, soldier!" a voice states, causing me to whip around to see who was speaking to me. A dark, mysterious man all in black with an eye patch over his left eye stands against the vibrant scenery. He strides closer to me, his footsteps cancelling out the overlapping chatter and engine sounds, "Look, I'm sorry about that little show back there, but we thought it best to break it to you slowly." he states calmly.

"Break what?" I ask, still kind of tense and disorientated. "You've been asleep, Sergeant. For almost 70 years." the man states. I look around in bewilderment, 'How?! Just how?!' is all that I can think. "You gonna be okay?" he asks me. As my thoughts settle, I reply with, "Yeah. Yeah, I just... I was meant to meet someone."
