I woke up with a smile. I knew that I got to see my best friend Aleah today. She had been in Chile for two weeks, we'd spend every day together, and she'd always come to my house after school.

My room was freezing from the cold air flowing inside through the window. I shivered as I got off my bed to close it. I looked out of the window for a second and I noticed how all the trees were starting to change colors.

There were so many leaves on the ground. I loved fall, the smells, the deserts, and the holidays.

Today was Halloween. They never disappointed me. I grabbed a sweater that Kaley had knitted me and a pair of jeans. I laid them on my bed and slumped down on my bed, I hated school, I only went because of Lee.

I got dressed and went to the bathroom. The bathroom was filled with Kaley's makeup. It was scattered all over the bathroom sink.

I looked around and got curious, I barely ever put makeup on myself, only mascara usually. I took a container that had pink powder in it.
"That's blush," a girly voice said from the doorway. I turned around startled at her presence.

"Want me to show you?" she asked with a smile. I handed her the blush and smiled with confusion on my eyebrows.

"Why are you up at 6:00 in the morning on a Friday?" I ask. She shrugs her shoulders and she motions me to sit. I hop up on the counter and she gets a brush and dabs it in the powder.

"I wanted to feel what it was like to be in high school again," she says while applying the soft brush to my face.
I make a breathy laugh,
"Why on earth would you want to be in high school again?" I ask.

She laughed and grabbed the mascara,
"I enjoyed high school, I loved it, you need to take it in more," she said with a half-serious face.

I rolled my eyes knowing that it would be quite impossible for me to enjoy school.
"Yeah, it makes total sense why you would enjoy school, you're extremely smart, and you are a literal model," I say with squints as she applies the mascara to my eyelashes.

"No, I am way too short to be a model," she says with a smirk.
"You know what I mean, dummy," I say with an annoyed smirk.

It was quiet for a minute and she pulled back her hands from my face. She sets her hands on my shoulders and leans back to get a better look at my face. She smiles and nods. Kaley helps me off the counter and turns me to the mirror.

"Well, I may have amazing eyes and lips, and my hair is to die for but, my stubby eyelashes could never compete with your long, dark, luscious lashes. You're beautiful Kare bear," she says to me as she squeezes my shoulders with excitement.

I stare at myself in the mirror, I have never felt more beautiful. Even the tiniest bit of makeup raised 90% of my confidence. I glance at Kaley in the mirror and she is staring at me with a slight smile.

I loved Kaley, she may be overly confident, stuck up, and a bit of a brat sometimes, but she had soft spots, and she still cares about me. I noticed that she had called me Kare Bear, which is what Danny calls me.

I kind of hated it, it made me feel like I was still a baby, but a part of me didn't mind.
"Shoot I'm late, I have to be at school in 10 minutes," I say while quickly brushing my hair.

"Want me to take you? I'm already up as it is," she offers.
"No it's okay, I can drive myself," I say.
I didn't have a license.

I didn't understand why Kaley had been being so nice to me this morning.
"Haha, nice try...We could get coffee," she says with a smirk.
But man, you don't hear me complaining. My lips curled to the sides of my cheeks, she knew how to woo me over.

We quickly ran to the car and Kaley started to drive. The school was about 4 minutes away from my house luckily, but heaven knows how much traffic there would be.
