Things felt different with Danny these days. He was even more distant than normal. I felt like it was me, but I'm still the same person I have been.

I guess college was getting to him. He was growing up even more and I had to accept that. He wasn't the only one doing the growing though...I am starting to mature, I can tell by the way people act around me.

Mom doesn't call me Flower anymore. She used to call me Flower every day,
"Hi Flower, you are so sweet my flower," she would say...But not anymore.

Danny was still nice to me of course, but he wasn't really that close with me anymore. Maybe this was a good thing, maybe it's a sign for me to start looking for other guys, it's time to move on, but a part of me is still sticking to our past, and our memories.

I walked inside my house and my mom was in the kitchen.
"How was school?" she asks. I plop my backpack on the counter and slump down on it.
"Fine," I say. She nodded, she was cutting up potatoes.

"Are you doing anything for Halloween tonight?" she asks.
I nod,
"I think I might go to this dumb party, I was gonna go with Lee," I say.
"A party? Will there be drinking? I don't know if I want you around that Kare," she says with a concerned look on her face.

"You drink wine all the time, plus I don't do that stuff," I say while grabbing an apple from a ceramic bowl.

"Okay well if you decide to go, just please be careful, gosh Carol and I used to do some crazy stuff back in high school, and I do not want you to be like us," she says while keeping her eyes on the potatoes.

"I will, I promise," I say while starting to leave the kitchen. I run upstairs and I go into my room. I see Kaley going through my closet. She looks at me like a deer in headlights.

"What are you doing in my room, Kaley?" I ask calmly and confused. She smiles and shakes the clothes that are hanging in my closet.

"I need a costume for work, I have to dress up to pass out candy to little children," she says while rolling her eyes.
"Okay, but I don't have any costumes..." I say while putting my backpack down.

"Ugh I know, but I'm going as a vsco girl, and you have so many big t-shirts, speaking of clothes...you need to purge your closet cause, yeesh, it's so bland in here," she says grabbing a white coca cola big tee. I roll my eyes and lay on my bed.

"Also," she says while popping her head back in my door. I turn my head towards her with squinted eyes.
"Clean your room," she says with a fake smile.

I throw a pillow at her as she leaves and I sigh up to the ceiling. I thought about what I was going to wear tonight, I had to look super cute, so I had to find a costume.

I looked at my closet and shook my head...no that's not gonna work. I hopped up from my bed and I walked over to Kaley's room. Her light purple room was so tidy and clean. She had a white canopy bed that she's had ever since she was 10.

Her door was open so I just walked right inside.
"Hey...do you have clothes I can borrow?" I ask leaning against the doorframe. Kaley puts her book down from her face and a smile appears.

"Is Kara going on a date?" she asks with a bubbly tone.
I sighed and shook my head,
"No, a party, a Halloween party, Aleah wants me to go," I said while walking in fully.

"I mean go ahead but I don't know if that is such a good idea, I mean will there be drinking? And don't you have homework? You know that school is most important," she says while bookmarking her page.

I groan and roll my eyes.
"Not everyone can be as smart and fascinating as you Kaley, I'm just trying to have fun," I said while grabbing a shirt from her closet.
"Okay I didn't mean to come off that way, and c'mon, why don't you and I stay home tonight and binge-watch all of the scream movies!" she says.
