a week later, things between mark and olivia was... complicated. the man had been avoiding the girl, unsure on what to say or do. especially now that he was thinking about leaving seattle. he'd came to the conclusion that he wasn't good enough for the girl and it was best for her if he left the hospital. that and the awful weather and the unforgiving people.
when the woman got wind of the man leaving, she was beyond pissed off. she'd been looking for him all day but found no trace of him. she was on her way to find the chief to ask him if he was actually leaving as well when she found the man she'd been looking for.
he was sat along the cat walk with addison, derek and dr burke when the girl began storming up to him. "mark sloan." she called, anger laced in her voice.
"she sounds angry." derek muttered as he watched her storm over and stand in front of the plastic surgeon.
"you're leaving and didn't think to tell me? considering you're so smart you are so unbelievably thick." she waffled. an amused smirk came to the mans face as he watched her, he loved her fire cracker personality.
"livvy." he called, attempting to tell her that he wasn't actually leaving now.
"no! don't you 'livvy' me." she mocked, deepening her voice to imitate his own. the other three watched on with amused and confused looks on their faces. "was you even going to tell me?" she probed once more.
"olivia." mark called once more, louder this time so she actually did hear and stop talking. "i'm not leaving." he told.
the girl immediately stopped talking and looked at the man with a raised brow. "y-you're not? but mer-meredith said..." mark leaned forwards and gently took one of her hands in both of his, squeezing them gently before running his thumb along the backs.
"i was thinking about leaving, but i'm not going anywhere. i found a reason to stay." he smirked.
this caused her to frown, "what chief of surgery?" she scoffed. it took everything in mark to not say 'you' as he looked at her so intently. for a moment, he forgot the others were there. of course, until derek cleared his throat.
"he thinks he has a chance." the man chuckled.
"right." olivia nodded, a small, fake smile coming to her lips. she was disappointed that mark didn't say that she was his reason for staying. she guessed she was the only one who had those feeling between the two of them.
she quickly turned to leave, embarrassment growing. as she turned, she nearly bumped into dr bailey who had a pile of forms in her hands. mark sighed as he watched her leave, guilt growing in his stomach.
once the girl had changed out of her scrubs, she made her way out of the hospital and back to her apartment, wanting to wallow in self pitty alone. that was of course until, her doorbell rang.
