Truth or Lie
John Blackmore took a moment to decipher the fact that another Alien was sitting in his compact little room. He walked up and down never taking his eye's from the white robed mystery that never took its eyes from him. "Are you real? he asked. "Or are you in my imagination? "I understand your feelings John Blackmore" answered the stranger, "But if you would let me I would like to explain" "Explain away" replied John. "For our first introduction to the people of Morena has caused us nothing but trouble. Trouble that could end any hopes we had of establishing a life on this Planet. Therefore yes please Mr Galan, explain away" Galan requested that John take a seat as his explanation may take some time. "As I have previously said John Blackmore I am a Senior Moreniam Ambassador" he began. "I travel over many Galaxies to worlds less advanced and more advanced than your Planet Earth. On my return to Morena I was advised of your situation here on, as you have named it Outreach One. You were I understand visited by Ronan and Miriam, two life forms well known to me. We have on Morena, as you have on Earth, many different way's of life. I think you refer to such things as Cults. Ronan and Miriam belong to such a Cult. They are known in my world as, Illusionists. They play games with peoples minds and in this case you and your people. Two Earth months before you arrived on this Planet they entered your Ship and subsequently your minds. You were programmed to think that no life existed on this Planet and to see only what Ragan wanted you to see. Therefore when you arrived and first set foot outside of your Ship I suspect that your first observation would have been, "Why is there no wildlife on such an accommodating Planet" would I be correct? John Blackmore simply nodded yes, completely transfixed to the words he was hearing. Galan continued. "The fact of the matter John Blackmore is that there is an abundance of wildlife and therefore food right outside of your Ship. I am aware of the twin Towns allegedly erected by Ragan to accommodate and enhance your existence here, but they are Illusions, nothing more" John Blackmore was in shock, "If we accepted what we were told by Ragan and now you are telling me that all he said were lies. Then why should I believe you. It could be that your obviously advanced capabilities could be used to play some sick games with whom to you are lesser mortals" "I accept your analogy of the situation and accept that I must prove myself to you as redemption for my fellow Morenials" said Galan, "Therefore I would ask you to do one thing. Spend the rest of this night in your life Pod, there will be no need for your preservative liquid. It is merely to relax your mind and remove all thoughts placed there by Ragan. If you trust me in this then in the morning all will become clear" John could see no other way forward and without hesitation agreed to the request of this very believable man standing in front of him. He kissed his wife and entered the pod placing the oxygen mask over his mouth. "Go to sleep John Blackmore" said Galan, "Tomorrow will be a new beginning"
John opened his eyes, there was no one there. "Have I been dreaming" was the first thought to enter his mind. Where are Ivana and the children? Who in my thoughts is Galan? The Pod opened, he removed the mask and stepped into the room. "How do you feel? asked a voice slowly appearing in a corner of the room. "I am Galan, I am not a dream and your family are awaiting you in the next room" "I remember" said John, "But I feel no different" "Be patient" said Galan, "Let us walk" They strolled through the room containing his family with no more than a fleeting glance. "Hector, open doors? said Galan, seemingly now in charge of New Horizons. As the huge door opened and the ramp lowered John Blackmore walked forward into a completely different world than he had first encountered. The sun was shinning, birds could be seen in the cloudless sky. As they walked on the field, where in his memory they had erected structures, there were none. Butterflies and bees flew close by with seemingly no fear of humans. John Blackmore touched the grass and pushed his fingers into the moist soil. Too shocked to speak he walked side by side with Galan towards the river. On the edge he could see fish freely swimming not six feet from the shore. Along the embankment a family of Otters were playing in the crystal clear water. The ascension of a hill he had ascended many times before led to John Blackmore falling to his knees at the sight before his eyes. A heard of Buffalo, easily 1000 strong roamed across the valley below. "This is the real Outreach One John" said Galan. "This Planet is plentiful in all that sustains life, but the Illusions that Ragan planted in all of you allowed you only to see what he wanted you to see. This is the World that you must show to your people, and now that I have arrived you will never see Ragan or one of his kind again. Your task now is to convince your people of what you have seen and heard. They must also re-enter their life Pods to clear their minds" "How can I be sure this is not another Illusion? asked John. "Take my hand" requested Galan. And as he did so a cloud like film covered both of them and in a split second they were on top of a hill which overlooked Providence and Origen. "What do you see John Blackmore" Galan asked. "Lot's of people scurrying around needlessly" he answered. "Do you see the Towns" asked Galan. "No" was the answer.
