Hello there!
Okay, so this this chapter is the saddest chapter BY FAR. If you are very emotional at the moment, I don't suggest you read this in front of other people. I cried while writing it...
In my opinion the setting makes it plot very predictable in this chapter, but that's just me.
It's also really short...
I'll have another note at the end (please read), so I'll let you read...
Chapter 16 my lovelies!

A week went by, and Catlin began losing energy. Niall has been taking very good care of her. The boys knew her time was coming, but I refused to believe it. I took her to the hospital, and Marsha did all she could, but it didn't make an impact on Catlin what so ever. I slept with her every night. She knew her time was coming, and she accepted it. She pointed out all of the positives of her death to us.
"I will always be here in spirit. I will be up in the sky, watching over you; keeping you safe. And think of it this way... I won't be in pain or misery anymore," she explained.
I nodded. "We know."
Louis always avoided the subject around me whenever possible. He understood me. The past few days, we have been watching movies and playing games, for it was late September in New England. The leaves were changing from green, to yellow, to orange, to brown, then they would shrivel up and fall, only to be blown away by wind into the rough, freezing ocean water. It was depressing. Summer was over. The bitter and mean season of winter was coming. This was just the beginning.
Today I walk downstairs to see Catlin sitting on the sofa watching her favorite movie, Toy Story 3. I sat at the desk behind the couch. The boys were all out on the water for a peaceful ride in the canoe they found. The water was strangely calm today. The scenery was serene.
I watched as my strong little sister ate her bowl of popcorn, drinking from her juice box. I glanced back at what I was working on. It was a scrap book of the great times I've had with the boys and Catlin. I was currently on a page of the day we spent on the beach together. That was the same day my so-called father called. I smiled as I glued a picture of Catlin's sand castle into the book. It was taller than her with the help of the boys.
I looked to the TV. It was the part where Andy was giving Woody to the little girl. I turned back to the desk once again when I heard a crash. I snapped my head in the direction of the sofa.
No.
The popcorn that Catlin once held was all over the floor. The ceramic bowl shattered all over the floor. Her apple juice was spilling onto the floor from where it lay on the coffee table. I stood up and ran in front of her.
No.
Her eyes were frozen and glossed over. Her face had a numb expression. Her body went limp. She lost all the color in her face.
No.
Only moments ago, she was giggling at the movie, and now she is forever gone. "Kitty?" I whispered in shock. "Kitty?! Kitty! Don't go! Don't leave me! Catlin!" I cried softly and collapsed to the floor. "Kitty, come back."
No answer. Not that I expected one, but I hoped for one. But in the real world things don't turn out like that. Life is cruel. Mean. Unforgiving. Harsh. And you can't screw up. You only have one chance. This is my wake up call. I need to stop living in a fairy tale.
Catlin is dead.
