I sat at a table in the corner of the café while Abigail finished her shift. I pulled out my phone. 8 missed calls. 3 text messages. I open up a text from Harry.
Ari, I need 2 talk 2 u! Call me wen u can! ~Harry is sexy
I rolled my eyes. Next.
U ok? Text me ~Bradford Bad Boiii
I sighed. Last one.
Ariel, can we talk? Please call me ~Niall (Ya Buddy)
I dialed his number. I can't avoid Nialler. It only rang once, then he picked up.
"Ello? Ariel?" he asked.
"Hi Niall. Long time no talk," I said. We hadn't spoken since Catlin's death.
"Yeah, uh - sorry 'bout that."
"It's no biggy. So... you wanted to talk..." I said awkwardly.
"Uh - yeah. I wanted to make sure you were alright. You had said at the dock you have no car, no house, no friends to stay with..."
"Yeah - uh - I think I'm good. I'm staying with Abigail - my manager - until I'm back on my feet, and she is giving me my job back. I guess that's good..."
"You guess?"
"Yeah, I guess. I mean, I really miss you guys, and I don't have enough money for Catlin's funeral. It's just... hard," I told him. My voice cracked at the end.
"Aww. Ari, calm down. I promise things will get better. Trust me. I-" he was interrupted by another voice.
"Niall? Is that Ariel?" a hopeful voice asked. Louis.
"Yeah - uh..." Niall stuttered.
"Niall, I gotta go. I'll talk to you later," I said quickly.
"Wait, don't you want to talk to Louis?" he asked fast.
"No," I said coldly. I hit the end button and instantly felt guilty. I silently cried to myself in the booth. I glanced at the table in the back corner. That was where I first saw the boys known as One Direction. Without thinking, I stood up, picked up my bags, and walked to the booth. I sat down, pushing my bags under the table in the process. Tears rained down on the table top as I thought of the times we had in that house. I put my head down, and my eyelids became heavy. I passed out in the corner of the café, wishing I was in Louis' embrace.

"Ariel, get up," Abi said, shaking my shoulder.
I sat up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. I looked around seeing I was still in the booth. I nodded at Abigail to show her I was coming. I picked up my two bags and she took one from me. We loaded her car and got in. It was silent for the first five minutes then she asked a question that took me by surprise.
"Who's Louis?"
"What?" I asked.
"Well, some guy named Louis called the café asking for you," she explained.
"And you said...?"
"I told him you were sleeping, and I would have you call him later. Now tell me, who is he?"
I sighed. "He - uh - well it's complicated. I don't know what he is to me..." I said honestly.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"Well - um - it's kind of a long story..."
We pulled into her drive way. She shut the car off and turned to me. "I got time." I looked down. "How about we go in and get comfortable first though," she says. I looked back up with a smile and nodded.
We got out and I grabbed my bags. Abi led me into the house.
"Here, you can put your stuff in the guest room where you'll stay," she said, leading me into a red room. The carpet was white. The bed had a blue and white striped comforter to match the curtains. How ironic; my new room looked like Louis' wardrobe.
I put my stuff down on the bed and turned around to face Abigail. "Can I take a shower?" I asked. I felt disgusting. My clothes were wet and filthy from my night on the bus bench.
"Yeah, of course!" she said. "Your bathroom is right through there." She points to a door next to the bed. "I'll be in the living room. Come out when you're done. Do you want me to order pizza?"
"Sure," I replied nodding my head.
"Alright. I'll be out here," she called, walking out and closing the door.
I let out a sigh. Abi is great and I love her to death. She is committed and loving and honest... but the problem with that is one: I'm not always committed or loving or honest and two: she will force things out of me. I know for a fact that she will make me call Louis back... and I don't think I want to. After all of the lies he fed me and I lied to him: I told him I hated him, and for that I hate myself. It annoys me how much I still love him... Why did he want to talk anyway?
