Things have been rougher than usual. After stopping the Technodrome and the Kraang invasion, April's dad had been wary of allowing her to leave the apartment after dark. But the turtles needed her help for a mission, so he decided to accompany them. However, things went from bad to worse, as during their fight inside a flying Kraang ship, they accidentally knocked over a whole bunch of mutagen canisters, and they rained all over the city.

One of them landed on Kirby, turning him into a mutant bat. When April found out how it happened, she became furious, and they eventually lost sight of Kirby as he disappeared into the night. April started shouting at the turtles, blaming them for what happened. This, in turn, made Sam angry, and she exploded back at April!

She said that since the day they met her, all they ever did was try to help her, and all she did in return was bring them trouble that they always had to fix. She said she was an ingrate before calling her "Kraang Magnet" and storming away, just livid. Her brothers were shocked at the outburst. They had no idea how much out-of-control emotion Sam held against April. When they turned back to April, she was already gone, and they wouldn't be seeing her anytime soon.

Sam was not the type who liked to hold grudges, but whenever she did, she held on tightly with both hands and refused to let go. Plus, they now had to collect all the mutagen canisters before some poor fool wound up mutated. They would have to deal with their fight with April at a later date.

Soon after, Leo was once again having trouble with his role as leader. While on patrol, he challenged his siblings to a training exercise where he balanced on a rope over the street, and they had to get past him. They all succeeded in doing so, but Leo was upset that they didn't take his lectures seriously. Raph protested, saying they should all fight in their own way.

Leo complained to Master Splinter about feeling disrespected, but things soon became worse. During another patrol, the four younger turtles once again disobeyed orders, which resulted in Leo getting captured by Karai, who took him to Bradford's dojo and forced him to fight new Foot robots, which adapted the more you fought them.

Meanwhile, Leo's siblings felt guilty for not listening and went to rescue him. This led to a fight breaking out between them and the Foot robots. Leo got into another fight with Karai, where she told him that Splinter had killed her mother. Leo won the fight and told Karai that Shredder was lying; Splinter would never do such a thing. He demanded that she keep her grudge with him and stay away from his siblings.

However, once back at the lair, Leo told Splinter about what he heard from Karai, and his father revealed something that would change everything: "Karai... is my daughter."

Now the turtles were in the Shellraiser, trying to track down more mutagen canisters. There weren't very many of them (about 67), but even a small amount could be dangerous if some idiot decided to touch it.

"Take a right." Donnie said, watching the scanner. But just as Leo tried to turn, "Go left! LEFT!"

"Um, Donnie, maybe you can tell me before we pass the street?"

"Sorry, Leo. There's still so many mutagen canisters out there, my tracker is having trouble zeroing in on a single reading. Oh, turn right!"

Leo makes a sharp turn, which jostles everyone in the van. "Whoa! I think I just got shell-lash!" Raph informed. Suddenly, Mikey let out a terrified shriek, and they turned to see him and Sam reading a comic book.
