Part 12:Love that reaches the stars

In Kohrae's consciousness he was shackled and getting beaten by figments of past Arbiters,bleeding where he was trapped his consciousness began shattering because his birth was considered a sin and he had to go through this pain for years.

"That's enough,this is unforgivable even from you!"MinLin demanded.

"Yes his birth is unforgivable Custos MinLin what do we— I'm not talking to him,I'm talking to you."MinLin interrupted.

The past Arbiters were speechless and asked why she would say that.She said that he did nothing wrong and that the corruption is no more,she saw in his eyes and shown her that he is not what the Arbiters think he is.As Mythra's Custos she has to maintain its balance and to punish one for no wrongdoing is just stupid and pathetic.She kissed him and said again that his sins are forgiven,the shackled that had held him and bled his spirit were letting him go.He was shocked at why MinLin would do this to him even though he  now knew his birth was considered a "sin".

"I said that I won't leave you so—I won't leave you,no matter what.You have potential and I saw you with my own eyes while they just expected it.Now that I think about it I never knew why you ran after saving me that day until now.The large and deep wound on your stomach was continuously bleeding,your ankles had shackles and your feet were hurt yet you kept running so you wouldn't accidentally get me hurt.You might not think it but you are what the Arbiters never were or will be,they were chosen for the amount of Elemental power they had but you are never going to be like them,you were chosen for the good in your heart and that is what a true Arbiter is."MinLin said.

After declaring his sin forgiven Kohrae looked different than before,the rings and eyeliner around his eyes were now blue instead of red.He thanked her but someone from the beach followed them and began making fun of the two because he thought Kohrae had vitiligo so slightly aggravated he picked up the Beastu,flew to the water and dropped him in the sea.MinLin laughed and said that it served him right when Kohrae dropped him in the sea,a doctor was able to reattach his wing but not his horns.

"Every time I look at that scar and the marks on your ankles I always remember the day we first met.Those rings on your body prevent your powers from fighting yet they look so good on you.*Chuckles* Now that I think about it I think you love me,even your concern and shyness can get through that emotional suppression of yours."MinLin said with a smile.

Ritora's face turned as red as a beet because it was true,since his greatest enemy has always been himself he hid his emotions and was very introverted.He hid his face with his long hair and MinLin noticed the red hair tie she gave him,he always held onto it and it looked good with his hair since it's black and white.

"It's okay,now they won't harm you anymore,I freed you from the shackles on your spirit.So you don't have to hide your feelings anymore Koko."MinLin said stroking his tied up hair.

"You are right,I-I do love you MinLin.You may call me overprotective if you wish because what I wish is to be with you until the end of time.Throughout my life I had thought I should not have a right to live but if I was never alive I would never have met such an amazing Beastu like you.I-It feels so good to have a reason to live."Kohrae said as he began to cry.

Before MinLin could reassure him the same Beastu that Ritora dropped in the water threw a rock and it hit him in the face,Kohrae got up and angrily shouted at the Beastu in Yokairan.His nose began bleeding and as he looked at the red liquid that had a blue shimmer he grimaced.MinLin got closer and licked some of the blood but Kohrae backed away baring his sharp draconic teeth but covered his mouth instantly.

"Show me again."MinLin said.

Ritora refused to open his mouth until MinLin asked if he hides his draconic teeth because they look so scary.He nodded but she told him that she wasn't afraid so he relaxed his jaw and MinLin saw his sharp teeth,poor Ritora had a hallucination that his corrupt father was using his tail to drug him and hid in the tree before hyperventilating in tears.MinLin knew that he seemed to have had a memory he wanted to forget but couldn't.

"It's okay,I made sure that Bastard can't hurt you again but breathe slowly."MinLin said in a calming voice.

"Poor Koko,those memories scar him like the frost and poison scars,even if what's left of his father can't hurt him the painful memories of that Bastard will follow him wherever he goes."MinLin thought to herself.

Ritora began breathing more slowly before climbing back down,MinLin threw herself onto him sad that he goes through this pain.As the months went by the two grew closer than ever,on May 27th was the day they first met and 3 days before Ritora's birthday,for that Ritora made something MinLin didn't expect.For supper he made Happysoba the same thing she made for him that time.

"Why did you make this?"MinLin asked.

Kohrae told her he made Happysoba because he was grateful that she helped him that day.The day they met after patching up his wounds he was also starved half to death,he told her it was almost a month he went without food and she wanted to help him but his feet and legs were so badly injured when he tried to get up and walk he slumped down and coughed blood.Poor thing was in tears that she treated him better than others did to him.On Ritora's 16th birthday he decided it was time to tell her the truth,she asked why he looked so anxious and he told her that Kohrae is not even his real name.

"What?!But you said that was your name the day we first met!"MinLin said surprised.

"My curse forced me to commit such an act of deception,Kohrae is Yokairan for curse and I apologize for lying to you but my true name is Rio.Since I am free of my father's control I shall no longer lie to you."He said removing his scarf.

She saw blue symbols on both sides of his neck but they were scarred with knife slashes.Rio told her that the symbols on his neck were his name but the scars were from his twisted father who wanted them gone so he could bestow Rio the name Kohrae.MinLin saw an orb who was Yang and he told her that since the corruption crisis has permanently been solved she can live her life as a normal Beastu,she was confused until the black and white ear she's had since birth changed to turquoise and red like her other ear.She felt freedom for once and hugged Rio happy that she can be with him and live her life.

"Thank you for being here with me Rio."MinLin said hugging him tightly.
