Inescapable

Ch. 17

You cursed internally as you remembered a line from Endgame. You mess with time, it tends to mess back. Groaning you picked yourself up off the floor as you saw from the corner of your eye Loki do the same. Looking towards the window (where the blast originated from) you see Ultron coming in, his eyes locked with yours, the metal gleaming in the sunlight. "Fuck." You muttered under your breath and started reaching into your pocket for your phone, to recall IRON MAIDEN to you, when he spoke.

"I wouldn't if I were you."

You stop your movements, but in the corner of your eye you catch Loki phasing into his battle suit, two daggers appearing in his hands. "What makes you think a god would listen to a machine?" Ultron turns to face Loki. "Oh. I was counting you wouldn't." Bots suddenly burst through the opening behind Ultron, their sights set on Loki. You take the quick distraction as an opportunity to grab your phone and recall IRON MAIDEN to you. When you look up Ultron is practically in your face. "I didn't want to have to do this..." Your confusion is short lived when suddenly Ultron back hand's you and causes you to fly to the side of the room, hitting the wall in the process.

Groaning you look up and find him over you again. "I thought you were made in Tony's image..." You knew that would strike a nerve, hoping to give you enough time for JO to bring IRON MAIDEN around. It struck a nerve alright as Ultron brought down his heavy leg down on your gut. "Do not compare me to that man!" Coughing you kept pushing. "He would never hurt me." Ultron bends down and grabs me by the shirt, lifting me up with ease. "Well, I'm not him sweetheart. I'm better. In every way."

Your distractions proved valuable when IRON MAIDEN blasted him, causing his grip on you to falter. Rolling between his legs, you assimilate with the suit, the faceplate closing the moment Ultron turns around to face you. "Doubt that, asshole." You send another blast his way and turn to fly off and assist Loki who was currently overwhelmed. You don't get far when you're halted in mid-air.

"JO?"

Her mechanical-Scottish accent was breaking as she responded, "I'm sorry b-boss. I – I don't know w-what is h-happening." You tried to move, exit the suit, but nothing budged. You felt yourself pulled back. "Thanks for giving me exactly what I wanted." Ultron's voice called out close to your head just before your HUD turned black and everything turned off, essentially locking you inside your IRON MAIDEN suit. Fuck.

Loki watched as the machine took away Y/N in her suit, which had to be malfunctioning since she was not fighting back. He tried to follow but was continually barraged by more mindless robots. He couldn't get the upper hand until red energy and blue streaks brought down a couple of bots down in seconds. He heard a roar, which announced to him that the green monster, the Hulk, was now awake.

The witch stood next to him, her hands flaming red, her brother quickly appearing to flank her. "Where is he?" The witch spoke. The Hulk bursted through the wall behind them, roaring away and grabbing the last two bots completely eviscerating them with minimal effort. Loki relaxed from his attack stance before he spoke. "He's gone. And he took Y/N with him. I need to get in contact with Stark."

"Hulk crush stupid robot for taking Y/N. Y/N nice to us." Loki absentmindedly nodded as he headed to the lab to find a computer these Midgardians use so much.

You were practically dragged out of the tower, blind and in an iron prison, with only a vague idea of where Ultron might be taking you. Who knows how long you had been airborne, but you had landed a while back, and were tossed onto what you could only assume was a table of sorts. You were beginning to feel claustrophobic as memories of your time with HYDRA flashed back, when suddenly your suit was rebooting, the display coming to life. Hope flared in you as you called out softly, "JO?" When the countdown on the screen reboot completed, and your vision to the outside world was restored, so did JOCASTA's voice return. "I am free."
