Onyx awoke to Keanu snuggled next to her. She looked at him and smiled. He looked so peaceful when he slept.

She tried to get out of bed slowly as to not wake him up. It was too late.

He's a light sleeper.

"Onyx?" he asked groggily.

"Good morning."

He looked up at her eyes cloudy with sleep. "What are you doing up?"

"Just going to get some breakfast. And wash up."

"You go wash up, I'll get you breakfast. Did you wanna eat here or in the dining hall?"

Onyx wasn't sure she was ready to see a lot of people right now. She felt like a fraud walking around with the dragons her mother betrayed.

"I think I want to eat here."

She saw a ghost of a smile appear on his face. "Okay...apple or orange juice?"

"Apple all the way."

He nodded and left the room, padding out in his classic white tunic and baggy pants combo.

After she washed up, she found a fresh pair of clothes set up for her in the bathroom.

It was a simple white tunic, with a leather corset, and black pants with a leather belt buckle. She slipped on the long brown leather boots, and walked out of the bathroom.

Onyx found a tray of eggs and pancakes on the bed, with a glass of apple juice on the side. She smiled. Keanu was nowhere to be found.

She shrugged. He was probably out doing his "important duties".

She downed her food within a couple of minutes, heaving a sigh of content.

She considered getting up and being productive, but his bed was so comfortable. Plus there's the off chance he might come back...

She shook the thought from her head. She was being childish. There were far more important things to worry about right now.

Like her traitor of a mother...

Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard the door swing open. Keanu walked in and went straight to his desk without acknowledging her.

That's weird.

"Good morning."

He grunted in reply.

Onyx scowled. "What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing."

"You're lying. I know you are."

"You barely know me."

"That's not true. What's wrong?"

He grunted in frustration. "It's nothing for you to worry about."

Onyx stood up and walked over to him. "I want to worry about it. Tell me."

He looked at her eyes hard. "Do you not know when to stop?"

She stared back challenging him. "No."

They stared at each other for a long time until he sighed. "Alright. I'll tell you. But in the future let me come to you in my own time."
